  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ready, Aim... Fire.

The beans are spilled... we will be out of backorder in April. We have incredible things lined up for the future. Easy stuff.

Jim:

Spill some beans man, just some not all. This suspense is unhealthy for our stressed out lives! LOL

I love all of my cameras....But, there's nothing like shooting with RED. NOTHING...

I'm exhausted from shooting and I have to get up early, but, I always said the pain in the ass about being a cinematographer was that you couldn't really practice your art without 6 guys, a generator and an AC or two. Epic is the fist time in my 20 year career that I feel like I can pick up a camera, and go out and try something new, and not make any compromises. It's what a sketch pad and charcoal is to a painter. It's a simple tool that opens many doors. I love it, and the Alexa sure as shit ain't it ;-)

Thank you. Seriously.

I shot this on the island almost 5 years ago with a RED One original M sensor. It used to take a lot of tweaking to get a good image in one of the early RED apps...

This is REDgamma3 and REDcolor3. No other changes. Easy.

Jim

I can't imagine you would hype this up this much and then reveal something that makes everyone say, "Really!? That's it?" - This makes me very excited.

I have a feeling whatever it is, it's big.

Screw the history. Keep showing us the future!

We really have stuff in the works that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

WOW..and this is just the tip of the iceberg. So excited to be a part of this!

The colors of RG3/RC3 are significantly improved. Again.. a very old file from a RED ONE M sensor. No grading other than the standard settings.

It is amazing how much "found" dynamic range there is...

Jim

As I reflect... it is pretty scary to think that RED changed the industry when we had absolutely no idea what we were doing... :-)

Jim

There's something onto this too, Jim. When you guys started it was pure passionate, rebellious attitude To "change the world". As you guys grow, please never forget this drive to push boundaries and be driven by this passion. Because you are becoming bigger and bigger - 1000 + employees next year?- never forget obsolescence obsolete and keep this unique "soul and passion" of this company as you grow! We are here all the way!

Really? No other changes? That's impressive.

Am I right in assuming that if we shoot the footage properly, we could finish in Redcine X Pro? Or is this being built for Stills?

This was shot during the Peter Lik shoot... incredible detail. One button RC3/RG3. EPIC footage. RPP.

(The image should be larger... not sure why not)
