  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Raven Queue Put Together

Damn. I thought so to, but just got an email from my bomb squad "RED will not honor timestamps for customers switching from a RAVEN Brain to a SCARLET-W BRAIN + accessory package."

Wow that's interesting. I'm guessing it is directly correlated to the fact that they've announced the epic-w and the fact that people can get the huge discount if they are scarlet-w owners/pre-orders, so they don't want a huge influx of raven owners switching their orders over to scarlet-w and then possibly taking advantage of the epic-w discount. They're probably trying to avoid a huge backlog of helium sensors and then a huge wait time like we're experiencing with dragon sensors. But that's just my speculation

Or maybe it was just a temporary option back in March which no longer stands. I guess I'll stick to Raven, which kind of sucks knowing that I could now afford a Scarlet W.

No that deal went way longer than that. I heard of people doing that as late as July. I would ask someone else for clarification because that is still your time stamp and you've been waiting a good while

Welcome to the community! Keep up with this thread so you can get a general idea of allocation speed (this queue is not the official numbers, many people who buy or use Red are not on Reduser). Production should be ramping up due to Hellium sensor freeing up Dragon sensor ovens to make the process move faster. Along with the fact that a big bulk of orders were in Sept. when the camera was announced, the next big chunk should be around the NAB announcement that the price of the Raven would be going up. After a few weeks or so of following this thread and maybe even the Raven Facebook group you should be able to get a clearer idea of when you'll be allocated.

No one here can give you an exact month, if I took a guess I would say your Raven will probably arrive before that July 2017 date. And your Scarlet W will probably arrive before your Raven. Just my 2 cents.

Also keep an eye out for dealers who sell the camera, others have taken advantage and got their cameras much quicker than if they would have waited in the queue.

TD, I ordered a Raven in early Feb and switched to a Scarlet-W in April. I asked when I switched and was told my Raven timestamp would transfer.

I can now accord a Scarlet-W as well, but I'm sticking with Raven as I *know* no matter what RED offers, I won't be upgrading to a higher camera (nor do I want to as I don't want to wait any longer than I need to). I'm going to use the extra money to make Raven the best it can be.
 
Guys, I asked Jarred directly about the timestamp thing in The Update Thread.

yes... remember the whole basis of this program is for those that are still waiting on cameras and to reduce the load on the Scarlet-W backlog, all the other guys that are getting thrown a bone get to wait behind those. This may look like our normal upgrade program but it's not.. so the normal rules don't apply and we can modify everything as we go along to whatever gets us out of that backorder hole the quickest.

The only exception to that is of course brand new stand alone Helium camera orders, thats the absolute quickest path, but not a path most of you I assume will be taking.

Thanks Aaron. Just got a response from my Bomb Squad (after I sent him your link) and he has confirmed that original time stamps are still kept if you decide to switch from Raven to Scarlet-W. Great news.

Allocated two weeks ago, paid the day after but still waiting for the camera to be delivered! I'm pretty sad about this! :( I thought it was quicker! Hope to have it before the end of next month at least!
 
Hey Luca, I just processed payment yesterday and it was for the BRAIN ONLY as I had purchased all other accessories separate... did you order any accessories that might be delaying your shipping? I remember my allocation email mentioned that the order ship when all "other" items are available ...

EMAIL FROM REP:
"Would you like to add any accessories? Please note that Raven orders ship complete so if you add any accessory that is not currently in-stock, it could potentially delay shipment. "
 
Hey Daniel! No, just the brain. I'm from Italy maybe they have to ship it to London and than to me that's why! But still :/
