I hemmed and hawwed for SOOOOOO LOOOONNNGGGGGG because I had no idea the the deposit was completely refundable.

Received mine today, works like a charm and the build is phenomenal. Thanks to Jarred and everyone else at Red for putting out such an awesome product. Will be shooting a test within the next day or so and will have footage to show. Side note: My bomb squad reps killed it, were always helpful and willing to go the extra mile for an answer. A week after completing payment it was ready to ship, and then I upgraded my 2 day shipping to priority overnight.

Ah, thanks for the link to Brent's post. That's all I wanted to know really as I had asked him before about my mid-Jan order date and he didn't give me any info. At least now I know NOT to expect my camera anytime this month (or next month even), but I'm hoping to get it before Aug. for a big shoot lined up (I have other 4K cams which I can use but I'd rather use the Raven!).

I'd imagine you would since I think that was during the "Ships Fall 2016" timeframe. I think the site might still say that. Even though they're probably still getting orders in I'd bet that the bulk was at the beginning. Good luck!

Aww, that sucks man. I think it says it on red.com but I think I saw it in the announcement thread here. At first I was in the same boat, but I saw that and ordered.


If it makes you feel any better, I was waiting to buy batteries (mostly because I was deciding on a charger that ended up being the one I figured I'd get anyway). I was going to go with the Switronix RED slims originally. They were out of stock and then back. So I waited thinking they'd ship in the same time once I was allocated if I ordered when I was allocated. Now all the Switronix batteries are 7-14 days out at B&H again...but I did upgrade to the 98s with the LCD panel. So now it's a proper race. Because of that I just shipped the Raven ground. I've got my G-Tech reader ready to go though, haha (thanks Amazon).
