  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RAVEN Allocation

now you see why im so active these weeks…
happy and confused. i throw up my arms, every thing i thought i knew, just changed…for the better i might add.

All those Raven switchers keep pushing me back in the S-W pre-order line and forward in the Raven pre-order line. Its going to be a the happiest "poor day" soon. Haha! I feel they both are going to hit at the same time for me.
 
im just waiting for one of these guys to pop on and say they got their raven pkg allocation, then at least that part would be clear, that they are allocating both simultaneously as brent said.

i mean, i guess that could be a possibility but remember he said dozens will go out on the first allocation, now so far we know that 3 reduser scarlet-w packages were allocated today and no news of any raven pkgs (that we know of) and according to brett the same number of each would be allocated. so hopefully some were.
 
Joe here. Still no word from Red. I pre-ordered an I/O package so I'm assuming Brain orders are being tended to first.
 
Jordan, although I share both your enthusiasm and frustration while waiting for our cameras, I have to say the frequency and tone of your posts, speculations, calculations, and just general impatience is beginning to get a little out of hand. It's just adding stress to the situation. I think you need to spend a little time away from the screen mate! You're winding yourself up. And the rest of us in the process. And I think you need to cut Brent some slack. You've asked ALOT of questions in here, every single day. and I think the tone in your posts had been taking a turn for the worst lately when your frustration gets the best of you. I'm totally in the same boat man, we all are. But I'm beginning to get stressed out by all the conclusions you're jumping to and just general stressy vibe you're throwing out there. It's making the wait worse really. Give yourself a break mate, the obsession is admirable but sometimes it's getting the best of you. I think you might find if you pull back a notch and distance yourself from the keyboard you'll find the wait a little less excruciating. I mean this in a nice way bud, hope you don't take it the wrong way.

I think one of the things that I'm not seeing people take into account when they're trying to calculate when they'll get their package or where they are in the queue, is that there are HUNDREDS of dealers and distributors around the world who ordered Raven packages in bulk, hours before the sales officially went live back in autumn. There really isn't any way you can make a list in here with timestamps and make accurate conclusions about when your camera will be allocated. It's simply just impossible. It DOESN'T work that way. And like Brent said, it's a manual process. You just can't make a list where people submit their timestamp and expect things to roll out in that order, especially when there's no way to take into account how many units all the dealerships ordered, when they ordered them, and what kind of priority they've been given at Red. You're going to drive yourselves crazy with that list. Seriously guys. It's making it extremely hard on yourselves by trying to calculate like that. Like Arne did, just keep in touch with your bomb squad and stick to that. The list will just drive you crazy and mislead everybody.
 
The list is only a guide, a very general guide. It's obviously only a small subset of what has been ordered. However, once people get allocated on there, it'll be a decent idea of where you stand, and if you get skipped because of the manual process of allocation, you can know and get it squared away with your rep. But yeah, I agree with everything you said Kris.

Welcome, no probs. Got bills to pay so not in a rush to take the SW. In time. In time I keep telling myself. Excited about all the new accessories though so looking forward to everything coming out the next few months.
 
It has seriously been almost a month since any person has reported being allocated for a Raven. That includes packages and brain-only orders. Now, of course this doesn't mean that Ravens haven't been shipping, but it would seem very odd that they had been shipping and yet not one person ever stopped by to say they got their Raven. So, while the March 17th date might have been technically met with a handful of units, it's stressing me out that nothing seems to be happening now. I'm in the same boat as many of you. I have jobs coming up that I had intended to use my Raven on. And I ordered within the first 12 hours so I was never expecting allocations to be so slow. I'm still waiting as patiently as I can and I have been pleased with RED's transparency but damn I hope I get my camera at least in May.
