Hello guys im new on the RED Camera, when I turn on my camera it works normal but after 3 minutes it turns off after the camera tries to restart and only the FANS are heard but it does not turn on, I have it connected with my Switronics Battery, my Fan setup is in target adaptive in 37C, the funny thing is that my T / E is kept at 38 /53, my firmware is 7.0.3, and I tried to do HARD RESET and it continues to turn off, Wipe restart and it continues to turn off, reinstall the firmware and continue to turn off.

I've even tried to do Black Shading and in the middle process it goes off.

Anybody with this issue?

if anyone can help me here is my email: m.edy.85mtz@gmail.com

Have you tried with another battery?
Same problem with externa DN-power?
Tried to rollback the firmware, FW 7.0.1.7?

Hey Mats thanks for the post, i try another battery and I still do the same, unfortunately I don't have the v-lock I / O expander, and i try to reinstall the FW 7.0.1.7 and keeps turning off the camera.

The funny thing is that: T / E stays green when the camera is turned off, do you think it is not a problem of overheating, or will my batteries be?

Hi Edy, it would be good to have some more info. Any modules attached to the camera? What battery plate? Did the camera work ok before and this happens since a firmware change? Did you just buy the camera and it never worked correctly?

I don't know if this has anything to do with your issue, but since I had a similar shut off issue, here's my advice.

Check the LEMO connector on the battery plate's cable. Make sure the connector is screwed securely to its attached cable and smoothly goes in all the way to the camera's LEMO port.

I was out shooting a couple days ago on a Switronix Jetpack and the power kept shutting off, but I knew my batteries were not dead.
I was paranoid on the way home, thinking it could be either the Epic, the battery plate or the battery.

It was the connector not going in all the way. There is a circular marker (very hard to see) on one of the female inputs on the connector that must be aligned with the camera body's LEMO (male)'s pin's circular indicator. The LEMO connector on the cable can loosen and shift over time. That's what mine did. Both of these indicators should align with the red line indicators on the outer edge of the connectors. If you don't look for that circular indicator, there is a 50/50 chance you connect the wrong end and risk damaging the camera or battery plate.

See this diagram:
https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/232/Lemo_FGJ.1B.306.CWLD72Z_REV.A-1175015.pdf
Look at the bottom-left diagram and notice how the top circular input has that half-circle indicator and a small space to the left to differentiate it from the other 4 larger inputs.

Hi Martin, I have the regular v mount adapter from red, my battery is the Hypercore 98 (The Green one) I realized that the ideal is RED COLOR for the raven, I do not know if that's the problem & no after I upgrade the FW THIS ISSUE appear!

every time ive heard of this issue on every RED camera it comes down to the battery or the connector but its been realized that its the camera protecting itself from a bad power situation. i would only use approved battery sources. the green hypercores are not made for red.
sounds like to me that whatever got bumped in the newest firmware, made it less possible to use unapproved batteries.
can you power up with AC? that is your first test.

Yes better the camera turns of from bad power than acting up strange. I see this lots of times. Especially when using dual Dtaps from the battery and also from the I/O module then your battery needs to be top shelf stuff, high current witdraw kind of batteries, like the blueshape granite for example works quite well.
