  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ranger Trade-in program officially begins today.. Sorry took us a few extra weeks to get up and running but you all screamed loud enough to widen the eligibility, so we did.

Oh there was something a while back on one of these threads that mentioned just being able to do boards-only upgrade for MG owners - I think Brent mentioned if we wanted to forego the Gemini sensor, we could do that (with the added "why wouldn't you want the Gemini?" or something like that hah)

heh heh heh.... thats the real question, why wouldn't you want to goto Gemini? You just want the new boards in the DSMC2 body with your existing Dragon sensor?

Yeah, I (and others!) love the 6K Dragon sensor for sure!
 
Is the Epic-W upgrade/trade in path closing soon? Or does “last Chance” only apply to DSMC, R1, etc?

Well we always seem to say last chance, but then someone writes me an email with a compelling plea and I seem to always cave in... so when this does go away in a few months, who knows 5 years down the road it may come back again.
 
I really want to upgrade to ranger but gemini as is works as a great tool for more run and gun stuff so its a tough choice. any idea when dsmc3 is coming out and if its still 2020? I have been so swamped I haven't been on RU or FB like I used to be so I feel out of the loop on everything atm. its good to be back though and to have options
 
To clarify, is the Epic w to new "Unified Dmsc2 body" closing aswell?

Get 50 more of those +1's and lets start a dialogue. Dragon-X could become 6k DSMC2 with some effort which I think would fill all you OG Dragon lovers needs.
 
Loved Ranger from the time I took out Jarred's Stormtrooper prototype... Great addition to the Red product line, a true bona fide studio camera. Whisper quiet cooling, robust 24v power throughout, a great base package of modules built in, ergonomic... I'm sold!
 
Yes, I am curious if the Epic-W to DSMC2 will close at any point. I don't have any available windows to send in my camera as of right now and really want to do this upgrade. Really want to unlock the FPS.
