Quick release mount for Weapon and DSMC 2 bodies

There has got to be a reasonably priced "snap in style" quick release out there. The closest one i've seen is the wooden camera quick riser http://woodencamera.com/RED/Camera-Support-RED/Quick-Riser-Epic-Scarlet.html, but it is $300, and sized for dsmc1 bodies. I am looking for something cheaper but still works well for dsmc2 bodies.

What are you guys using???

Thanks but thats not reasonably priced, I need to fit 4 of these on all of my rigs. looking for under $300 option if anyone knows of one out there.

Brody, I will double check but i think that riser works on dsmc2 also. My friend was afraid he needed tp get a new one but his old one fit fine

The riser fits but be aware that the old riser places the 15mm LW rods 5mm out of alignment on the DSMC2 so your all good unless you want to run 15mm LW rods

Well bummer, thats not gonna work with my DJI Focus, need the 15mm rod option.

The answer was in the link you had in your original post.

From the WC description:
"The Quick Riser is compatible with the DSMC2 line up, however it will not be compatible with our future cage accessories developed for the Weapon, Scarlet-W, Raven cameras."



You might want to give the folks at WC a call to get the best answer.

Doubtful. The WC is reasonably priced consider the work that goes into designing the parts and then the HQ machining to make the parts.

oh cool. that will fix me not able to have rails attached to the camera, only the base plate... if I decide to go with the WC system. thx!

I use the WC quickriser with DSMC2; same height; no alignment problem...

Just asked Ryan and Wooden Camera. The official height for both is 95.9mm.
