  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How are you guys mounting shotgun mics to you camera bodies? Doing this on the fly and on short notice.
 
Bear in mind that's a very noisy place to put a microphone, even a really good shotgun mic. It's always better to have somebody physically place the mic closer to the actors, or use wireless mics on the actors' bodies, or both.

I have been shooting with this lightweight setup for a while now. The leather straps are very strong (using them over a year now, and cut a ton of weight. This mic set-up folds now easy and back in the bag. Quick and simple, practical, for me.

That is a cool setup David. Really liking the mount. Have to get my rig all set up by Saturday. Appreciate the tips from everybody.
