You guys wont know what #21 is until it is released..

Is #21 something absolutely massive enough to make someone want to buy into the 'system'? On a scale of 1 - 10, where 10 means, OH MY GOD!, where do you rate #21's importance?

(May have been asked and answered, if so, sorry)

I mean, is this like an Oprah prize where we all win a new car?

CF REDStation is done.. just waiting on the FCC.. which is VERY close. Its down to the external cables now :)

Lets preserve the mystery of #21 as long as possible. I love that #21 is still sitting there... watching... waiting.

#21... my favorite thing in the whole world.

Scarlet FF35 - canceled officially right?

I think it should even be a mystery till after launch. Firmware upgrade easter egg. :)

(No offense), but I dont really care (right now, mind you) what it is- I'm already sold. I just want to know how stinking cool it is. It's icing on the cake... I mean is this your birthday when your 30th birthday type news or like your rich aunt who really liked you just died type news?

Have you considered building a H.264 Proxy Module that will be compatible with current RED ONEs? Having a H.264 Module for EPICs and Scarlets is fantastic - but at least initially, there will be a lot more RED ONEs out there, and once work gets out to directors that they can view RED footage on their iPad, there's going to be a lot of disappointed people once they realise they're shooting on an old model RED.

Earlier, I believe it was said that the EPic brain will be slightly larger. Are there any similar size/weight changes expected for the 2/3" Scarlets?

Since the Scarlet Fixed is supposed to be ready to shoot out of the box, does this mean it will come with a CF card?

Thank you gentlemen.

I have three questions:

All this talk of "Scarlet" by end of 2010 (potentially :) ) - however as announced the Scarlet 'branding' covers a range Scarlet 2/3" 8x fixed lens, Scarlet 2/3" interchangeable, Scarlet S35 and Scarlet FF35.

1) Which 'Scarlet/s' will be by end-ish 2010?
2) I guess I'm really asking about S35 & FF35. Are they still planned, and if so what timeframe?
I second these questions.

Say it isn't so?! That's the one I wanted... I was going to have to beg/borrow/steal in order to afford it...

Me too. I already did the stealing and now it's canceled? :-(

Everything depends on how many people want to upgrade... we are moving along at a rapid pace right now. My bet is that 50-65% of the RED ONEs will get upgraded. Every one of them should be upgraded IMHO. The value going forward will be RED ONE M-X cameras.

Jim

I absolutely agree.

I think the only hesitancy arises from either ...

1) An inability to come up with the extra cash.
2) A fear that they won't get to use it enough before they need to trade their MXed RI in for Stage 3.

I am guessing that the % of M-X upgrades is significantly higher in lower serial numbered cameras ... and of course those keeping their Red Ones for good.

Nope... you have to decide which one.

Thanks Jim for Red-education program update you are working on for India.

Recently we shot with our custom Rigs, an S3D commercial using Two Red One's. We would like to see EPIC with more futures for S3D by combining Two EPIC's which has Genlock for playback Two Epic footage from their respective cameras using Master/Slave USB controls. Also looking for Timecode In/Out be perfect.

EPIC in S3D will have bigger role to play in 3D Live Action Sports for 3D HDTV content generation and hope you people also consider developing software related to S3D in future checklist in EPIC software development as well for Red Cine-X.
