I'm currently using a ronin. When given enough camera, lens, monitor...etc it all adds up as anyone who operated a gimbal for 2 minutes would know.
I've seen reviews of the Readyrig GS and it's been pretty good from everything I've seen, one thing that bothers me is that it uses a strap, so therefore I'm guessing that when holding it up (therefore the strap would fold a little Im guessing?) it would mean the weight wouldnt be shifted at all to the rig persay. But it gives full range of vertical motion so that's a huge plus and it doesn't get in the way at all.
Armor man 2, seems like it sticks to the gimbal from below and from what I see it gives the operator easy hand-off to others as welll ,though I'm not working with other videographers most of the time and when I am it's usually not switching operators. So that's not a main concern. The main thing is shifting the weight which is what this thing is used for. It looks unobstructive as well, looks like it can go full vertical motion and it would support the gimbal all the way but I can't know for sure how both compare as I don't know/seen anyone online even that has used both who could say how they differ. If the usage is more or less the same, I might get the tilta armor man 2 just on the basis of it looking better.
Other things come into mind, set up time and weight of the rig itself. It would have to be transported to/from places and of course either by a bag, or being on my body. So if the set up time is significantly longer and more complex from one and the other that does also come into mind. I'd like some guidance into where I should sway on this as it'll be an accessory that will stay with me for quite some time. I know either way I probably won't regret the purchase but I'd like to at least know what I'm getting myself into.
For example, a person whos never flown a drone buying a matrice 600 outright and rigging it full. Probably would be better off with a toy drone or a phantom at the most.
I've considered steadicams and rigging them to suit it, but it's too cumbersome. I've come down to these two options though if there's anything out there that's better and about the same price I'm open to suggestions.
This forum is probably the most informed on this subject so I appreciate your opinions and thoughts
