Question about Red Carbon Matte Box???

Hello to everyone,

Does anyone own a Red Carbon matte box?
If so, does any one know what rod adapter could i purchase to be able to put it to a 15mm or 19mm rod?

Reason why i ask, is because this matte box is not the standard matte box.

RED Mattebox is a clamp-on design that rides on your lens. They were supposed to release a rod adapter mount and swing-away system for it, among other components, but it never happened. I'm thinking it wouldn't be too difficult to fabricate some sort of mod that works with a low-profile rod mount from Zacuto or similar. Do you have the additional support cage pieces that were offered for the matte box? Could be pretty simple to rig something up to those components. But there is no rod adapter you can buy that would simply attach to it... Have to get creative.

Hmmm... I have a RED matte box and, while I haven't used it a lot - or lately - I seem to remember that I do have a mount for rods (not swing-away, though) that lets you slide it forward to change lenses. I'll have to check...

Yes I got the 19mm rod mount for it. No swing awy sadly.

Really? Did they offer the rod mount for it? Somehow I missed that if they did... I do know for a fact that they never released the swing away add-on.
