I've heard about people having problems with a green flash on proxy files over a minute in length. When I open the files, the entire clip is green. Anyone ever heard of this before
?

Which program did you create the files in? I have had errors appear in clips from Red Rushes that were fine from Red Alert or Red Cine. Double check you have all the latest downloads from the Red site for everything you are using.

Good Luck
Matt

Yeah, I've had some really weird RedRushes exports. All White. All Green. Half a squished image combined with half green. Weird.

Hi Joelnet and Tim,

I had the same problem several days ago--immediately after upgrading to latest version of Build 16 (I had skipped the previous Build 16, v. 3.2.5).

But then I went and downloaded the latest Red Quicktime codec and RedAlert! and this problem of green footage was fixed. So recommend you try upgrading to latest version of all Red software.

cheers,
Dan

Hi guys,

I've just bought an iMac 20" 2.66Ghz, 2GB RAM, 320GB HD, etc. and installed FCS 2 fresh with RED QT codec (and all the other softwares). I can view the RAW files in REDAlert and REDCine no problems. However, viewing proxies still gives me all green. Any suggestions on this one considering it's a fresh install of everything?

Hi guys,

I just figured out something. I tried playing around with REDrushes, and decided to experiment with Make Wrappers. All the new QT references now playback no problem. No more green footage. So, hope that helps for you guys out there.

Having the exact same issue in QT 7.5.5. Just installed all new updates from Red.com and tried creating new proxies in RedAlert and Red Rushes. All I get is green, green and more green. Suggestions?

Noah

I'm facing the same issue. Greens! Whites! Half green half 'artifacted' image! I'm just an editor and want to remain one. I don't think its fair that now I have to start dealing with technical issues and workarounds.

I will give RED One due respect for such a wonderful camera and give them some time to sort this out. I am sure they will. Until then, hello workarounds!

Going to try a regression to QT 7.4.5 and an older version of the Redcode plugin and see what happens...

Noah

Didn't do a thing- still stuck with green proxies, even after rebuilding them in Red Rushes. Least I can see the takes after an export from Red Rushes but I have a lot of them....

I am totally fine on QT 7.5.5 - OSX 10.5.5 MBP - build 16 footage - camera proxies are fine - (regenerated from RA) proxies are fine

Playing the proxies 1 by 1 in fcp or QT, they are ok. But in a FCP timeling, after 1min projekt length the proxies start to go mad (green, white, freeze....) and fcp hangs - any news on the "green" problem?

Update on green proxy files, pls!

Guys, what is up with the green proxy files?

I hate when threads die like these and there is no followup. Please let us know if there is a solution with build 16 or 17 proxy files being green. We have HOURS of proxy footage that is all green unless it's rendered.

Thanks a lot!

Kevin

i have this issue in some of my laptops and not in others. it is weird. i definitely have the latest QT codec on all my machines. a definitive answer from RED would be most helpful, as this problem sucks.....

my proxies on the machine i am now typing on play green in QT and FCP. in red alert, redcine, and any exports or renders i do from Red Alert or REDCine the ProRes transcodes look fine.

Any reason for this?

Maybe happening depending on what graphic chip you are working with?
It's happening on my MacPro with ATI cards on FCP. Sometimes okay sometimes happens on the exactly the same file.
So, I'm relying on REDrush to make offline clips lately.
