bruno

Hi Bruno,

thanks for your invitation.

Let you know in time when I would be able to come.

Also I leave this tread now just because has got pretty boring,

also some guys here doesn't understand something about RED1 at all

or even nothing about humor à la "Night at the Museum".

So Bruno, see you soon

I wonder if similar functionality that this profile brings could be hard coded as the default setting into the RED. Or maybe developed as a new version of Redspace, with the ability to adjust itself as you change iso etc. Either way this profile is probably all we need, once the issues with look loading have been sorted out.

Sanjin: Please refrain from posting in this thread. I, along with a lot of members value your contribution to this forum with your lens tests, but sometimes you are a complete nuisance. And I know that I'm not alone in having that opinion. You seem to lack the ability to realize that you are not contributing any thing of use to other peoples threads but are in fact diluting, polluting and shifting the focus of the thread with every new post you make. Not only is this rude but it is just plain disrespectful to the original poster and all subsequent contributors.

To avoid the profile loading issues, what i do is just to have a single profile in the SD card. Reset completely the camera. Load the profile. Leave it there. If you start disabling and enabling the profile is when the RED gets confused.
The good thing about the SC profile is that noise levels remains really low.
The bad thing is that Redcine seems not to fuly show the same image as RedAlert or QT proxies have.
But that doesn´t give me headaches since i usually reset the metadata and twick the colours depending on the scene. But the SC profile allowed me to acurately expose the image on the field while not hidding any information.

hey macgregor
How do you know when the profile SETS
We were toggling between a very color saturated
Profile and the SC41 profile in order to see that
The profile has indeed changed. Is there a technique
You are using to ensure this. Thanks for your help this is
going to be so very helpful when I can gain self confidence
Thanks

Hi Macgregor,

I have to "jump" again here with the following:

Filmmaker's gang I'm a little bit surprised about your very low "niveau" in getting to the "metaphoric" and so many "semantic" levels of my "joking" in this tread.

Macgregor even doesn't want to talk or discuss about the topic with me here, and suddenly he would like to ban me from the forum, that's very strange, aren't we in a democracy or...

sorry but all that's reminds me on the last dictatorship in Spain led by ... no need to mentioned his name now.

What does it all mean?

I hope that this "hilarious SC 4.1 250ISO" profile is not going to finish soon as one of "arguments" and "weapons" in a mouth of the RED competition

that "somehow Jim Jannard misguided and misled people" and sold them more than 5000 cameras with "actually" 250 ISO rating telling them that RED1 "native" rating is 320 ISO (lol,!!!?).

Try to find again about that what you would have to know about RED RAW and exposure>>>

I guess I'm confused. If you were using a light meter, would you rate the camera at 250 ISO? Or are you just setting the monitor to that setting and rating the camera at 320?

My experience shows me that rating the camera as 250ISO (not to confuse with setting the red one to 250iso) allows you to get the best possible image in 95% of situations. But always have an eye on your RAW parade.

what is the senario for the 5% that could go wrong ?

REDucation-Part One-RED Techs>>>

Quote:

"DETAILS

It is important to note that REDucation is the RED approved and sanctioned education for learning RED.
While the popularity of the camera and the 1000's of RED jobs and massive industry adoption of the RED
have created a lot of entities teaching RED in some fashion - none have been authorized by RED as the
best practices that we believe should be taught. REDucation is what RED believes is the best way to learn
the RED camera and RED post production techniques.
Currently, REDucation offers two separate trainings, 3 days each, or a complete 7 day training package:

RED TECHS
This three day, fully hands-on training is designed for learning on set practices with RED. Crafted for the Camera Assistants,
DIT, Data Wrangler Roles and DP's that want to learn more about the art and science of RAW digital cinematography as it
applies to their craft with a focus on the technical support roles that allow the DP to do his best work.

Working with RED cameras in small group learning environments and qualified RED technicians as faculty, REDucation
will teach the technology and best practices for on-set data workflows. REDucation will prep RED technicians on all aspects
of working on RED productions of all scope and budget levels.

The development of next Generation Scarlet and Epic cameras will also be presented and discussed, and there will be high resolution,
theatrical screenings of various RED shot projects with discussions on set work practices of these projects. The RED camera classes
will be taught in the real world environments where RED cameras are prepped and readied for production."

Stop hijacking the thread some of us use this as a learning tool not some place to spout a bunch of BS and show a bunch of childish stills. Mcgreggor is helping many of us explain some of these metering inconsistencies and now we can use our meters and the cameras meters to get a good digital NEG. I just a having a hard time ensuring that the profile has indeed set. Any thoughts anyone on a trick that doesn't involve multiple profiles on 1 card

ehehehehehe sj posting on a mac's thread is a must.. it would amuse anyone.. who knows if somehow also el nuevo "Señor Franco"..

now a little bit more seriously sj.. don't you see that mac is one of the most respectful young (yes, young but talented) red shooters?.. anyone would like to have him nearby.. ok not everyone.. except you sj.. but me'd pay to see you both together.. why not?.. you sj love the spanish beaches mac is also around in austria.. go figure when someone who doesn't see him now shall swallow him to be awarded out there.. someone will need a good portion of alka-seltzer.. alka-seltzer plus.. before posting at reduser announcing the fact to us..
:couch:

a little bit more seriously yet.. the more we see educated finds the more me thinks nothing's better than the best filmschool.. quoting the great Marcello Mastroianni.. if you want to be there.. making art.. or you born w/ it.. or not.

edit
just adding the couch.. not casting couch.. no no.. that goes only to mac.. that bastard..
the summer is there sj.. in the meantime we're still looking for your schönbrunn tests :tt1:

Tony, don't beat yourself up.
Go to User CP/Edit Ignore List section and add whoever you feel contributes nothing except 7 year old commentary....you never know, they might be 7 years old!
But 7's the age of reason right...where if enough people call you a dick and suspend your account, you can work out somethings wrong and right it.
...unless they haven't reached that development phase and are simply after the attention and annoying the adults, so hence the ignore button.
It makes Reduser a much better experience.

Dave

Guys,

obviously we are not sitting in the same (RED) train and that makes this discussion a bit humorous where I'm obviously playing a role of the clown,

Let you know that "I clowns/The Clowns" (by Federico Fellini) is one of my favorite films...

but one more thing:

by coincidence this virus (it's about a low RED native ISO???!) is spreading very fast from some other Spanish speaking DPs (in this case is a Colombian).

Give you another example where a guy (SI-2K user!!!) rated RED at 200 ISO
