  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Profile: SC 4.1 250ISO

I am also wondering since I upgraded to 20.1.3 if sc_41 is still necessary. Please advise as I was using with success with build 17.x. Thanks.

Mac, I've got to do some more testing because when I applied the profile to new Build 20, I did experience a glitch where my monitors displayed strange video snow. I thought a simple reboot would fix it, but didn't. I ended up clearing the profile and everything went back to normal. I can't think of any technical reason this would have happened, so I need to test it again and see if I get the same problem.

Thanks!

That was my thought too. I figured if anything, perhaps it was something in the way the profile was loaded. I'll try a couple of things and report back.

The profile worked for me on the build 17, but it is simply failing to load on the build 20. Nothing happens when I try to load it.... Miguel, what are your thoughts?

When opening the footage in Redcine or redalert, make sure you have selected 709 as your project gamma.
I'm doing some tests with build 21 and it seems the profile works fine. Just to understand better, in redalert do you use rec709 as color space and rec709 as output lut/gamma space?

Come on, what do you put in color space redspace or rec 709?

I'm confused as to whether on Build 21 it's better to go this sc4.1 250iso route or just RedSpace 320iso, in order to get a true sense of what's being recorded. I'm inclined to say viewmode of Redspace with 320iso, but have recently been advised that this is better

Miguel, would you suggest SC4.1 profile (and camera at 250ISO, build21) also good for film out? I know you said that you can throw away meta-data and grade from scratch, but my question is more about the DR captured and how it would look for a film project, or is profile really intended for a dvd/tv deliverable. Thanks for the great advice.
