  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Product release - The RED Null

I was just on a shoot where we had to adjust back-focus daily and on one day multiple times. I am concerned and figure I need to contact RED about this. My A/C is top notch and I was in touch with RED about adjusting back foucs on our last shoot and doing the alternating 1/4 turns per screw tightening. As you can imagine this slows down production more than is acceptable.

Thoughts?

-Dan

Why were you adjusting so much?

Hey Mitch, this looks like a great tool. Agreed that this should be in every kit.

I have a quick side question, sorry to diverge. What is the model of that Sony monitor you were using in the video. That is all I want to know.

Thanks, and keep the great accessories coming.

The monitor is a Sony LMB-2450. Abel sells & rents them.

The Red-Null dose not work on the Epic, it bottoms out on the material around the sensor.

Mitch, are there any plans to be able to modify RedNulls to work with Epics?

Thanks much,
Rich

Is a Canon EOS mount version of this in the works?

We are currently working on a modification to existing NULL Lenses so that they will fit on the EPIC. It is not the optics -- the rear housing of the NULL hits the mask in front of the EPIC's OLPF. We already know it works in theory, we are currently determining the simplest/least expensive solution for the upgrade.

We have a prototype of a Canon full sensor (VistaVision) NULL, but no schedule on the product.

Any news yet on modification to the Null that will make it compatible with the Epic?
