Problems conforming FCP XML to R3D

I'm beginning a color project on a short film that was cut in FCP7 using prores lt proxies. trying to conform to R3D for grading in resolve. i have done this before with no issue on previous versions but not on version 9. i read several tutorials including the one on this forum which all say basically the same thing so i followed this workflow.

i first cleaned up my timeline in fcp, removing all text, stills, slugs, effects and transitions other than simple dissolves. there are some speed changes and a few clips rendered from after effects which i left in. i brought all of the r3d media into the media pool along with the after effects renders. i imported the xml, unchecking auto settings and auto import. the timeline shows up with the correct filenames but the wrong media.

in other words, if "A003_002_xxx...." is the second clip in the edit, it shows up as that file name but is a totally different clip. when i click and select "show clip in media pool", it shows "A011_006_xxx..." which is the clip i'm seeing. i looked at the xml in text edit and there is nothing about this other clip from roll 11 so why is resolve placing this clip here?. if it were just one or two clips, i'd just fix it by hand. but this happens like every other clip and has this movie all jumbled up.

i'm usually pretty savvy to figure these things out but this has me scratching my head. i checked the folder structure of the r3d's against the prores folder and everything matches up. i can see the correct clips in resolve if i click on them in the media pool. i just don't know how to fix this problem.

any ideas?

p.s. if i import the same xml with the prores proxies in the media pool instead of the r3d's, everything is fine....

Got it. Issue was some clips shared the same timecode. Used clip finder to conform the XML. All is right with the world.

Is it still possible to get a hold of Clipfinder? Does anyone have a copy of the free version that they could share? I would love to have it for cases when RCX does not work for whatever reason.
