Hello!

We are having an issue with edit adjustments, in premiere, that have clips with scale setting changes, from the Effect Controls tab.

For example:

If we push into 150%, then export an XML, the clip is then full screen in Davinci. We are editing in 2k prores, then using the raw r3d files while ignoring file extensions in Davinci for the color grade.

Does anyone know how to keep the scale setting, from the Effect Controls tab side in premiere, after moving over to Davinci?

thanks!!

There's some good tips on Premiere -> Resolve workflows at this link:

https://ctkfilm.wordpress.com/resolve-color/

I am working on a 4K Sony F55 project right now where they did quite a bit of reframing (even dynamic repositions) in Premiere, and -- so far -- all of them have come through in Resolve. This is Resolve 14.3 and Premiere 2018, and I did choose "Use Sizing Information" when the XML and clips were imported.

They also have some very good tutorials on Resolve conforming in general (with specific attention to Premiere) over on MixingLight.com, but note this is a pay site.

The scaling will transfer from Premiere to "edit sizing" in Resolve, but because the proxies have different resolution than the R3D's, you need to adjust the Input scaling as well, and if those input scaling options don't work, you need to create a custom "input sizing preset" and use that.

The "input sizing preset" can be created in the "input sizing" tab in color page, but once created, the preset is independent from "input sizing". The preset can be applied in "clip attributes" in the edit page.

The order of sizing operations in Resolve is "Input sizing preset" -> "edit sizing" -> "input sizing".

You might need to re-read this couple of times :)
