I am editing a large project with the native R3Ds, already labeled all footage and started editing, and I am just getting really frustrated with the lagging as the projects gets bigger. Is there a way to relink the r3ds in the project with proxy Quicktimes rendered out of RedcineX? I've done the OPPOSITE of this many times in FCP using Clipfinder, but have yet to discover a way to do it this way. I could manually offline and relink each clip in Premiere, but there's almost 500 of them... And I can't just reconnect the clips in the sequence in RCX, as I want to have all the clips in the project with their logging info swapped too. Don't know if this is possible, but if anyone has any ideas it'd be appreciated!

Render your proxies and be sure the render has the exact name as the original.
Open the PP project in a text editor - find/repace all the .R3D with .mov - that's it. Then in the end do the opposite to online with the original .r3d

Awesome, thanks, this seems like it's gonna work great! Only issue was I couldn't get RCX to render out QTs with the "_001.mov" end for them all automatically, so did find/replace with "_001.R3D" to ".mov."

Thanks again!

Another Tip - Adobe Media Encoder will render out the full names (ie _001.mov). Plus it seems a bit better optimized for multithreaded workflows so you may find that it creates your proxies faster than RedCine-X :)

Right, forgot that one - just be sure to add the _001.R3D back when you online again:)
