Hey guys,

Been waiting to be allocated for a while, and had in mind getting the XL Module with XL Batteries (been wanting to avoid V-Locks for size and weight, since I shoot mostly handheld and on DJI Ronin) but lately several friends made me doubt about it and I've also seen a couple of pics online of V-Lock Bats that seem really slim so I was wondering if you guys could help me out and gimme a couple of recommendations in terms of which set up do you guys think might be best for powering the camera, considering the way I plan on using it (I mostly shoot music videos and Web Content).

I'm sorry if there's another thread about this or similar but I looked it up and couldn't find it.

Thanks for all the help! I srsly appreciate it!

On Ronin your best option no doubt is the DJI power distribution box and the new DJI batteries to go with it. Then you need no battery on camera.

Then it's the question of getting the jet pack, base IO or Vlock module for other ports.

I had the XL moule and sold it. XL bat's sticks out quite a bit in the back and also the lemos underneath so not optimal for ronin use as you need to keep camera pushed foward quite a bit.
But the Base IO does not add much and got all the ports needed. But then you need a seperate power module when of from the ronin.

And swaping on /off modules all the time is frustrating. So now we got the Vlock module (waiting for the red slim Vlock bat) and use DJI power for the camera when on ronin and when not we use Vlocks. When the slim Red Vlock comes that will be the superb hot swap power for ronin use.

When we got that we can turn on off ronin and swap batteries without the having camera shut down and FIZ resetting / needing re calibration.

So to me the one best solution is the Vlock module together with DJI power distributor box. If you want to spend a bit more I think get the Jetpack SDI when it comes but I doubt how much we would use it as, again then we would need to swap modules going on/off the ronin for somting that is a very small gain.

We run the ronin with the Cinnemilled baseplate and weights on the armor man II then the issues with too heavy / long camera is quite rare when using the Vlock module.

I'm in a similar position but for different reasons (needing size/weight to be small for trekking to high altitudes). Lucky for you, I made a nice handy chart comparing the volumetric and weight efficiency of most of the batteries out there right now: http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?144925-V-mount-Battery-Chart

The XLs are pretty solid from that perspective. Some of the V-mounts come close though—PAGs L90 Slim and the Bebob V98s (which I ended up buying)
