  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Powering RAVEN

almost all my sets have dionics for power, so debating on the anton bauer gold mounts, and a third party, like wooden camera module.
but i know a lot of indie people use switronix, that seam really affordable, anyone ever use these on a red camera?

i hope wooden camera or offhollywood come up with a very basic and affordable just hdmi out anton bauer battery module.

they work yah, dont give % but work fine

I'd consider the PAG system too, great batteries and fantastic for travelling.

Surprised we've heard nothing regarding Raven's power draw yet? Hoping they've got this down quite bit and we can expect longer shooting times.

+1 on Pags. For travelling they have a great small charger- that charges multiple batteries, and the way that they stack on the back of camera makes hot swap easy.

I have basically screwed around with most of the batteries mentioned, but Nirvana is the new Anton-baur gold mounts if you don't care about weight.

Always care about weight >< i was excited about the new AB batteries until my friend got a couple.. very strange design, and heavy =(

Basic I/O V-Mount solution seems like the best way to go. I use V-Mounts with my scarlet and love them, so I'll just move my set up over.

Someone needs to make a nice lippo solution that would be:
1 yes dangerous to charge, can self ignight explode etc. But who cares as long as you got a concrete floor to charge on you only got smoke to worry about.
2 price is excelent.
3 chargers are cheap.
4 batteries comes in all sizes.

So if sombody make a nice vmount thingy that we can put lipos in that would sell as hotcakes... and risk would be on the user.

Oh dear God. THIS would be the end of all sanity.

For the record - I have been told that both Anton Bauer and Switronix are coming out with batteries specifically for drone/gimbal form factor use.

Kinda like exactly what all you guys are begging for :)

VMounts and A/B Gold Mount.

Patience grasshopper.

im finding some models of batteries can be charged with its own AC plug, that would be huge if we didnt need to buy a whole charging station. cant wait to see what you guys come up with.
a lot of us are also looking for a very simple and affordable i/o module that basically has sdi or hdmi out, and with a gold mount would be even more amazing!
im finding out that i would have to go gold mount due to the camera house i use made all their batteries universal for alexa and epics using the gold mount, so if i wanted the raven as a b-cam i could share batteries.

Those Globalmediapro batteries don't support Epic/Scarlet/Weapon. The power draw is too high. Now if we knew what the Little Bird's power draw is going to be...

I reeeeeeally hope Raven is far under Weapon in power draw. That'd be a big disappointment for the little bird to require just as much power as the big guy.
