Hey all, I was wondering if anybody had some info for me regarding batteries and battery plates. Basically, are Red Bricks considered standard v-mount batteries? Or do they utilize some sort of proprietary technology that make them incompatible with other battery plates?

Secondly, are Red battery plates (quickplate module, backpack quickplate) compatible with other batteries? What I'm driving at is this: I'm all about the aesthetic. I want my camera rig to be clean and nice-looking. Sort of a weird OCD thing, I guess. So if indeed Red battery plates work with third-party batteries, I was hoping I'd be able to use those new Sony Olivine batteries with the Red battery plates (because it would look so much better because they're smaller than the Red Bricks).

Could someone tell me if this would work?

Thanks!

I considered Anton Bauer because they're so much smaller, but I couldn't find a mounting plate that was at least close to flush with the top of the camera. Do you know of one?

I use Viewfactor and it is flush to the top of the camera. Great set up! No "time" indicators, but you do get voltage!

That Viewfactor plate looks perfect, but how does it mount to the camera? Like a "dumb" module, sort of?
