Power issues: Running multiple accessories off the RED

I`m not entirely surprised that this happened but I was filming with the RED yesterday using a SMALL HD monitor, and for the first time a camwave transmitter and m-one/bartech wireless focus system all off a RED ONE with one battery and the RED kept shutting down.

The camwave was bridging the RED battery and the monitor and m-one were using a multi D-tap plugged into the battery plate and my basic assumption is that as soon as the focus puller started the motor it drew too much power and basically shut down the RED.

Now the obvious answer I`m sure is that I should use a second battery (which we ultimately did by putting the camwave off-camera using a separate plate) but can anyone suggest an alternative that allows me to keep the whole enchilada running? Is it the d-tap that`s getting overloaded or is it simply too much to ask of the battery? Could I run one of the accessories out of the camera?

The second obvious answer I guess it to get the dual battery plate but as you know, 2 batteries + a camwave is a fair stack to add to the camera.

Any other advice / suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
For instance, is there another power source that I could consider for the bartech ff w/ m-one motor that removes it from the camera?

I was using a RED battery....pretty new and it was fully charged.

O.K that's good, as that is your best option for providing the maximum amount of amps to the camera ..

i guess the next step is to re-load the system and see where it fails...

Did the Red shut down when calibrating the lenses?

I have always had issues w/ Bartech causing a shutdown, I find if I calibrate lenses before I turn on the camera I dont have the issue. Bartech draws too much power when calibrating

No issues with Camwave + Preston + Cinetape + Panny monitor...its always the Bartech

It might be that. I`ll have a look into it. A sudden draw on power is definitely the culprit. thx!

I've had it happen with Camwave+Preston on a Jimmy Jib. Can't remember the exact configuration or what else we had plugged in.

EDIT: Red One, Red Raid Drive, HD CamWave, Preston remote focus powered off an IDX battery as my Red batteries wouldn't fit on the Camwave. Also ended up gaffer taping the whole thing to reduce the stress on the Red cradle battery plate.

Thats why. The Red batteries can't take that.
and the p tap its not an efficient connector either.
I have all my axcs connected Plus a transvideo ultrabright via 3 pin fischer from my custom made camera batterie plate. with only one 190 wh batterie.
