  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Power Consumption Red Dragon

DSMC1 is about 60Wh. On a fairly common 150Wh battery you would get around 2.5 hours of runtime. The camera typically will shutdown when the battery gets to about <= 5% power on the brick, so more like 2.3-2.5 hours depending on the battery itself and other factors like even the weather or accessories connected.
 
Bare in mind a 5" touch is another ~5wh and an EVF (OLED or LCOS) I seem to recall being ~7.5wh (more than the 5" Touch, which I found surprising).
 
Not sure about the new DSMC2 one. I’m going off of memory from the Bomb OLED launch thread, which was years ago (I asked how much less power it used than the monitor, and the response I got was that both the OLED and LCOS draw a fair chunk more.)

...actually shouldn’t the exact amounts be in the OpsGuides/manual?.. gonna double check.
