  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Post Your Scarlet-X Rig

So really all you guys need to do is extend the EVF out away from the camera a bit more. A 9-12" Noga (or similar) arm should suffice.

Okay, I see. Are you using something like an extended arm to position the EVF off to the side? (Silly question to ask, I know... But I've seen quite a few very strange-looking rigs in the past, so I've come to learn that I can't assume anything about how components are set up anymore! Ha!)

I use my left eye, as well, and the WC evf mount works perfectly, and I like to rig it from my OBOX - you can see it somewhat here:

Aha! That's exactly what I'm trying to achieve. I assume you're using Wooden's 8" EVF Mount? Also, any chance you'd happen to have a close-up shot of your setup?

Yes, that's the mount - it get's out to the left eye easily. I don't have a legit close-up shot of the setup, but this is slightly more clear:

what shoulder set up is that? I've been researching various setups for weeks its driving me crazy

It's a Tilta shoulder pad, and it's pretty solid except I want to replace it's native quick release plate with a WC dovetail - I think that the WC shoulder rig looks great to me...I would buy it if I didn't have this shoulder pad already

here is my set up.

Nice foam job!
But, beware, you should never transport your camera with a lens attached...especially a long zoom. This is even more important when shipping. With all the violent hits and vibrations your case (and enclosed camera) must endure, the lens mount will take the brunt of these forces. Lest of all, your back focus will be knocked out..worse of all the metal castings of the mount will be compromised. Please note that all camera rental facilities store and ship their cameras without a lens attached. Be very careful.

Thanks for the advise Jeff.
I do not intend to take this case arrangement on long distance trips.
this is for local shoots only.
