  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Post Your Scarlet-X Rig

the C1 Pro-Rig weights in at 12 pounds as compared with the scorpion from zacuto at 14 pounds... but most important... there is no weight on your arms ! so you're not supporting the camera with your hands.

I've been working on this rig with the new prototype of the side handle extension ...

"Which rig-products do you use in this rig?"-Jesper Sichlau

im using a wc top and bottom plate(the bottom plate is the XL version), and wc nato safety bar to go along with a red handle.

the front handles are made by lanparte ( pretty good design. they ve developed the smallest amount of play in one of the rosettes, so i need to go in and see if i can fix it.).

the shoulder pad is made by genus, and is connected to to a QR system by manfrotto (the 357 version i believe).

the QR plate is attached to the bottom of the wc bottom plate, and that allows me quick change overs from tripod to handheld as i have a manfrotto 357 base on both my tripod and the shoulder pad.

That's pretty damn cool and I would definitely be interested in one of those down the line.

What head do you have on there? Looks a lot like one I have been using for a while that I picked up used and cant find a model # on it anywhere

Excuse the stupid Instagram look, it's not my photo, it's from a friend on set...he was excited to be shooting RED.

Anyway, I have the WC bottom plate and I usually keep a Manfrotto Plate on it for my 504HD head. But I'd love to have something to throw underneath for shoulder support. That's all I'm really missing right now for my rig.

Hey everybody, here is some of our setup. Some of the parts are a little hard to decipher so ill give some basic description. The battery pack is Switronics, held by the x easy back v mount. The Monitor is the Small HD DP6. The 15mm to 19mm adapters for the Oconnor follow focus and matte box are made by shoot35. The shoulder rig is also made by x. Hope you like it, we have really come to enjoy the setup we put together its very comfortable and versatile. look forward to seeing what everyone else has put together. Also you should know that we rent the camera aswell, come check us out www.redefinerentals.com

My new config, I'm trying to get a full compact setup. I like running this camera small.
Waiting on firmware so I can run the lcd off the back flipped. I'm using the Berkey System
rear plate with large shoulder pad, this helps to keep it small.
