  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Post your BT R1 MX rigs!

Stian, that would be great if you could post a shot of the clip! That sounds like what I need to get.
Thanks!

Here you go!
Pretty simple, but it works.

Stian, that looks perfect. Thanks for posting. Yes, I too would like to know where you found it....

Chris, what lens mount are you running? Also, how are you liking your Rokinon lens for your Red? ...I just got my R1 too and find myself scatching my head as to the lens direction I want to go with it...

Lightweight rig, PROAIM plus 3ality Technica

Maybe the cheapest one here) Front handles are on their way, here I use a part of PROAIM rig as a handle.

Lightweight setup for run and gun with AC cable. (preparing to shoot industrial footage, lots of 220 spots everywhere)
Quick switch from tripod to shoulder. little pad for the shoulder is not shown.

Still waiting for 3ality top support (second one) to put their Cheese Stick instead of this little handle. now it is only for emergency)

Ran into a bit of a problem with mine. I thought I was going to be able to directly bolt the ebay mini cheese plate directly to the top mount, but sadly the holes don't quite line up, so that one is a non starter!

Scheglov does the proaim top handle screw directly onto the top mount or is it just attached to the rails in that pic? Wondering how it's attached?

Thank you for the comments!

2 Raphael Madeira:
Monitor - Lilliput, FF - PROAIM, Lilliput shoul be replaced soon because it cuts some info on sides.

2 Freya:
There is only one bolt in the middle and I only use this handle while waiting for some parts from Element to put their Cheese Stick instead of this handle.
And I won't call it a safe solution. But you can connect 2 proaim handles from both sides to make some good and sturdy handle.

I attached the file with close up of handle.

Hi Nick, I am using the Nikon mount purchased directly from RED. So far I am loving the Rokinon 14mm Cine lens. I was worried about it being soft at the edges, but from what I can see it is pretty sharp. The one thing that gets me is the Nikon focusing direction. I am used to broadcast lenses or Canon lenses that all focus in one direction where Nikon and Nikon mount lenses focus opposite. I find myself often going the wrong direction.

Here is a snapshot out of REDCINE-X from some footage taken with the Rokinon 14mm. 4K 16:9, Redcode 36.

Here is another photo shot with 14mm Rokinon

I think that top handle will be okay as long as you support it from underneath with your other hand as you lift it. Good for getting a grip on things as long as you don't rely on it too much! :) Thanks for the photo!

As for getting a new ET Top mount, I thought they had sold out of them?

Do you know what model of Lilliput it is? Theres a lot of different models and some work better than others!

Yes, just for better grip!

the model is Lilliput 7" 669GL-70NP/C-H VGA HDMI DVI Monitor 669HB - but it is NOT doing well with RED ONE - it cuts menus and half of the histogram.
People say that Lilliput 5DII-H 7" HDMI monitor is showing menus correctly and now I'm waiting for it to check.

ET Cheese Plate is already in my hands from that big ET sale, but they forgot to put 2 top mounts to put Cheese Stick on(( only one. NOw i'm waiting for the shipment of missing part.

Finally got mine up and running a few weeks ago!

I thought it was the 5DII-OP but maybe it's all of them in that series!

I bet ET are not happy they missed out a top mount!
