  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Porsche vs. Camaro

nice airstrip. is that the same paint scheme as the jet ?

get yourself a better key grip. that car mount on that porsche was a ticking time bomb.

I use the suction cup/Modern ball mount setup as well and having such a flexible rig truly rocks. Each cup holds 70lbs and, should one fail, you still have all the others. I try to include ratchet straps when possible but have often gone without and suffered no failures.

My rig has held Vipers, Varicams, ARRI SR3's in all manner of positions including, in one case, a Viper suspended three feet off the front-driver quarter panel. It might have been better and easier to use a speed-rail setup for that one. :innocent:

I look forward to mounting RED One #414.

So the deer weren't doing it for you and you asked for some heavy iron. Best I can do...

Handheld?

Handheld?

Jim,

These frame grabs are all amazing, all the more so if they come from footage shot handheld. As you said elsewheere, this is only a 1/48 shutter speed, something that, in still photography, I would never do without a tripod, and then maybe even with a cable or remote shutter release, not to risk blur. I can't even begin to fathom how much sharper these images would be if they were shot at higher speed. Truly, you don't need to carry a DSLR around if you have a RED. Anything was shot handheld?

Nothing shot handheld. All on an O'Connor tripod with 1030HD head.

Sorry, only Superman can handhold 1/48th sec with a long lens and have razor sharp images...

Jim you are something ! what other toys on the island ? will you adopt me ?

Screw the SUV, we've got the SUAVE - The Sports Utility Armored Vehicle Extreme courtesy of one cray dude with balls and foresight. Jim, how about a nose mount on the Jet and some low passes around the coastline of 'Mystery Island', if you can't find a mount in time just hang Zakaree out of the door, he seems a bit of a nutter!

Thanks for sharing.
Mark.

I wish I had more time up here... gotta get back and make some cameras.

Nice. I love what you can do with these shots, even from a jpeg.

Night for day... :usd:

Well.......I don't hear anyone saying that!

I'd be pushin the big big fella a little harder!

He might have the content nailed but you got that running down the highway blur shot which goes a good way!

Now if Jim had of added a whole lot of little red laser dots over bambi's face, especially with that deer's contemplative look...I'd give it to him, but he didn't so...well, you've done well!

Cheers,

Sorry for not being clear. Its the way one of the arms is rigged. You have it reversed so it will loosen. This in the gray porsche shot in the garage.
