Running the latest Resolve (full version) on a OSX Mountain Lion results in all Epic footage playing back in spurts of a couple of seconds, with a pause of same time in between spurts. It's like Resolve squirts out two seconds of playback, then inhales and gathers strength for a while in preparation for the next squirt
Same thing happens regardless of decode quality setting. Full Premium plays just as badly as the lowest setting.
And yes, it's a Hackintosh system, built on a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5 TH motherboard and an Intel Core i7 3770K CPU with 16GBs of RAM.
The system has two GPUs: a built-in Intel HD4000 and an Nvidia Quadro 4000. I'm using the HD4000 for GUI operations, leaving Quadro 4000 to do the heavy lifting. Resolve lists the Quadro only in Preferences... but the way I see it, Resolve has to use HD4000 for GUI because the display is connected to the HD4000 only.
I would like to hear from anyone who's built a similar-ish Hackintosh system and managed to achieve better playback performance on Resolve.
