PL to EOS Adapter on Epic

I just bought one of the ebay adapters... I'll let people know my results when I get it, as well.

Thank You both for the Help.

I will wait for your input.

I have my fingers crossed that it works - even with a few of my PL lenses. For $90 including shipping, that's a great deal and a risk I'd take. I imagine if the lenses don't fit properly I can return it for a refund...

We'll know in a couple weeks (shipping from overseas).

I received the ebay bought PL to Canon EOS adapter yesterday. Unfortunately the PL part of the adapter doesn't seem to have an opening large enough to cover any of my PL lens flanges (I tried it with 6 of my PL mount lenses with each having the same result) - thus the lenses will not lock into place and the adapter is 100% useless unless they can send a replacement with a deeper flange. I've contacted the seller and asked for a replacement or a refund.

To be continued?

Mitch there are no deeper adapters PL to EOS. The max depth is about 6-7mm. Just the way the math works out for it.....
I would suggest getting proper Red adapters(duh) When you have expensive camera and expensive lenses the cheap adapter will make the system just that- cheap.
The cost of a proper adapter is negligible considering the cost of your camera and (PL) lenses.
I really hate to waste the band width and state the obvious but since no one has stepped up...

Well got myself a http://kcwtechnica.com/shop/pl-mount...ii-adapter-v2a

Problem being the back focus on the duclos 11-16 I put on my 7D was definitely off, couldn't focus one bit,

I'll try with the RED Canon mount but pretty sure it'll turn out the same...

It definitely fits...just the backfocus is off... Think it'll be easy just switch mounts but seems totally pointless just switching over for one lens but ah well...

For one 11-16mm lens it will be much easier and cheaper to get the 11-16 Tokina in Canon mount. A little common sense can go a long way sometimes....

Unless your suggesting I purchase another 11-16mm, I don't think theres a way to fit the PL into the Canon mount.

Common sense would mean that I would not buy two of the same lens just because I have more canon mounts then PL mount lenses...seems rather pointless don't you think to own 2 of the same lenses for one camera?

Hence the PL to EOS mount so that at least use it whilst I'm using Canon lenses and switch back to PL when I'm using PL lenses.

No I don't
But that's just me... your lenses your choices. From technical perspective stacking multiple adapters is a bad idea- that's all.

Agreed but I guess its fine if your mount on the camera is say Canon and your adding one additional mount not say 2 or 3...

Be ridiculous if you had a Canon mount on the camera, had canon mount lenses, put a Nikon adapter on them then a canon adapter and put that onto the camera mount...that would be no common sense...

Jarred said that as long as these are dumb mounts its ok to put onto whatever mount is on the camera (obviously as long as the mount on the camera is approved also)

It's like converting the R lenses to Canon or anything of the sort, your adding an additional mount on top of the existing anyway

Hi Jacek. There's no big issue here. I tried out an inexpensive adapter to see what the result was and reported those results. I, as well as others, had a curiosity to see if it would work. The cheap adapter didn't work. Simple enough. We all know that the best (and usually most expensive) gear will yield the results but many people need (or want) to seek out money saving solutions if and when it's possible.

Hey guys,

I have two Pl to eos adapters for my t2i. One is the adapter type that clicks into the t2i and is then a pl mount. It works well with the following lenses, DUCLOS 11-16, Ekran 25-80 zoom, canon century conversion 300mm. I have also used it with the Peleng 8mm in PL mount, but I sold my cheap old one and got a nice one with a stainless PL mount and that one is too fat ;-)

That's the link to the one I use, it lists the lenses that are known to work with it. I will say that I had to remove the pin stop for the locking ring to get it to fit. The other adapter I have replaces the eos mount with the 4 screws and it has a slightly deeper socket for the lens mount, but that isn't very helpful with epic.

Nick.

They are too big. Zeiss would rather make $400 a pop selling EF mounts for CP2s

looking for adapter voor Epic PL to B4 mount or Epic-TiCanonmount to B4 mount (want to use my 7,6-138mm Fujinonlens for 2K slomo shoots!!

Does anyne know if any of these PL->EOS adapters would work with the 18mm RED Pro Prime? I'm looking for a really fast wide lens for my Canon mount Scarlet.

If you know of any other lens or solution (other than switching over to PL mount- not right now, thanks) please let me know!
