Do we know for a fact that these are EPIC frame grabs and not stills from the set?

Actually, looking at the aspect ratio, I bet they are DSLR stills.

Thanks for posting!

**EDIT**- Answering my own question, I parsed the HTML source to find the supressed hidden path to the pics so I could download them outside the slide-show control on the web page. I looked at the metadata on one, and it's from a Nikon D3.

Image looks preeeeeetty good.

Was this all processed with new redlogfilm?

From IMDb:

Technical specifications for:
"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" (2011)

Camera
Red One Camera (MX sensor)

Printed film format
70 mm (horizontal) (Kodak Vision 2383) (IMAX DMR blow-up) (dual-strip 3-D)

Aspect ratio
1.44 : 1 (IMAX 3-D version)

The footage is lovely and the story is still captivating. Looks like Jack Sparrow lives on! :)

And, comparing it to the Blu-ray of the originals shot on 35mm, no one will ever expect that it wasn't shot on film. The style and color palate has made the transition quite well as can be seen from these sources.

BUT the trailer seemed to depend on Klaus Badelt's original theme from "POTC: The Curse of the Black Pearl"

Original themes were actually written and orchestrated by Zimmer. He was too busy on Last Samurai to put it all together so he had Klaus Badelt do it and gave the composer credit to him.

Trailer looks fantastic too, to me it seems to have the same feel as the originals!
EDIT: And by feel, I was referring to the visuals...doubt anyone who didn't know better would guess that it was digital and not film.

Same feel as the originals... Will be interesting to see how it plays without Orlando Bloom. So much of the chemistry in the first three films was generated by the continuous friction between Jack Sparrow and Will Turner. We shall see... Can't wait to see it myself. Zombies and mermaids in the same movie. Hehe.
