Thanks

funny, I just got off your website... very nice work!
yeah, they are pristine for sure and so easy to set up a million different ways... glad you love yours. wo do too. but just don't need 4 Sets of these...

Man those are just way too clean. You need to run them through the mud a few times then they'll look right :)

I own and have used these kits on many occasions, they're very versatile.
Here's a set still...

That bottom suction doesn't look like it is in a good spot. Hope you got the shot. Those other suctions must have held really well.

Actually, it worked fine, thats a TINY hood of a PRIUS. But it held firm and was pretty smooth without any special shock mount. Is a low cost way to guerilla a sweet money shot with the talent driving.

versus a process trailer and a union driver. :)

I think S816mm35mm was talking about the bottom suction cup on the Hyundai. I am also curious to know why it was set up that way and if it got any suction at all with it like that...

Also, with the three cups in optimal placements, how tough do you think it would be? Would you hit potholes? A little off-roading? Wipe out and go off the road and sideways into a foot or two of snow? :) I am serious though, just not seriously expecting the answers to be yes yes and yes...

Would you say that a strap or two on top of that would be enough for that sort of thing? I think I am scratching the wipe-out onto the snow bank even if it is such a cool signature up-north sort of thing, but I am planning on using car mounts quite a bit and it would be great to hear more about these babies...

BTW, I love Matthews stuff, and who wouldn't. (but know very little about the cups each manufacturer uses)

The bottom suction cup was just being used for lateral support. All the weight was being held by the three other suction cups (one hidden behind the body). The shot turned out great!

I've gone off road with this kit in the deserts outside Dubai!

If you rig it right you'll lose your hood before you'll lose the camera:ninja:
Get some gutter clips and ratchet straps to go along with it and you'll do fine.

Like Evin said, even that close to the seam, the hood was going to pop off before the
rig was... it has an iron grip... I think the pic just looks funny. its not as close to the gap as it looks...

if you mean his pic...

I think 1 cup would hold it frankly, those suction cups are incredibly powerful

btw

They BOTH SOLD!!! I asked way too little I think given these are now $1200 at filmtools (with 4 cups instead of 3) cant see why you would need 4th...

congrats ona great deal to the buyers!

Thanks for all the responses... so sorry to those who wanted it and it sold before I could even provide an invoice...

I obviously sold these WAY TOO CHEAP... congrats to buyers.

Thanks Tim....looking forward to it. Enjoy your dinner.
cheers
tony

EDIT: I should mention that dealing with Tim was smooth as silk....muchos gracias man!

lol... "hood will pop off first" is the sort of statement you want to hear haha!

Thanks for the added info, congrats to the buyers, and you too Tim.

Can't wait to create cool shots with stuff like this... looks like a whole lotta fun.

What would you say your average set up time is, not yours as you probably set up faster than we will, but an average first-time-ish user with lots of other grip experience?

Also, for additional weight reduction could you forgo the socket joint and go right from the camera to the rig's cheese plate? I know it might kill a lot of time, but for leveled shots it wouldn't an issue.

Well probably because you discounted them too heavily... ignore then if you refunded their money in full... how the f@#% are they supposed to have any clue who PMed first... if they keep bugging you PM their user name to a mod. Just make sure you only hold money from the two people who you are shipping them to.

What the heck would they have lost??? The opportunity to bid on an ending auction on Ebay? Are there any going on? Any that ended around that time?

And why the heck did you discount grip gear so heavily?!?!? lol... next time let me know :)

Evan, what mattebox is that, Arri MMB-1? I need a small clip-on.

Im just a guy doing my best to be fair and was hedging against all the flakey buyers on here and lets face it. a lot of people flake out. But I REFUNDED YOUR MONEY.

Hi Tim:

Are you saying you told more than 2 buyers to send you money through PayPal because you thought only 2 would actually do it and then more than 2 buyers paid you and you refunded everyone but the 2 that paid fastest?

-shooter

Shooter- no. thats not what happened.

and frankly, its none of your business.

why you feel the need to request prices, comment on my classifieds and basically try to disrupt my ads with UNNECESSARY comments is getting tiresome and is just plain rude.

when its clear you dont read ads that say "Serious buyers" only...

Come on man, commenting on a sale of equipment over $300,000 was bad enough...especially one we were losing $150K

but now you are commenting on ads you didnt even partiipate in and making assumptions... and doing so publicly?

with all due respect, WTF? is your problem man?

Congrats Tim ...looks very nice equipo to me...do you have plans for others,??

PLEASE Let me Know....

Tks
