Awesome Phil.

Cheers for that. It's all over the world apparently. Got to check it out at an electronic store in Tokyo and that was something.

Funny thing. Worked on Academy Award winning films and traveled a bit, but this is the only thing my mother is actually proud of :)

Some of it should be showing at NAB 2015 too.

This was one of the first Dragon prototype shoots (Jarred's Carbon Dragon) and people have responded nicely to it. And Dragon is much improved since then, but this shoot is where it impressed the hell out of me further. I was really happy to shoot two artists I've known and worked with before. This was a special shoot for me.

I really, really can't wait for you to see what I shot a couple months ago and where it will be seen. The best Dragon footage I've shot to date. It's going to be a bit before it's seen however.

I saw the Paint video at a furniture chain in Ottawa, Ontario.

We really, really can't wait to see it!

Does It come with a Phil Holland action figure that every body talks so much about? I might get a the tv:)

I still think 'It's Just Paint' is some of the best Dragon footage I've seen. When I watch that short, I see the masterful capturing and processing of images, facilitated by the use of a camera of unprecedented quality and capability. For me, it exemplifies not just a defining moment in the development of RED camera's, but of digital cinema in general. Looking forward to seeing more images of that standard.

Now if you could only figure out how to get royalties... every time it's played (on loop) on every tv in every store.... You figure that one out and let me know how lol.

Phil.......Congrats my man......I reference your video every time I talk about the Dragon. I recently got a call to do a documentary at my Alma Mater and once again I made reference to your video. Congrats again.....if you are ever in Chicago....make sure to connect with me.

Much Respect!!

so awesome

I remember that early build Carbon Dragon arriving at the studio space that day very clearly. My first time I saw a Carbon Dragon in person and a bit before my upgrade occurred. A little different than the prototype in the desert a few months before, but different in good ways. Nothing felt like a "virgin flight" though. I checked out the camera for a minute, but really it went straight into shooting and it felt real nice.

Pointing the Dragon at the skin, having those areas of highlight in the background, and seeing the small details pop up on screen. Reflections in pupils, paint spray in the air, dried paint on the fingers. That had me sold on Dragon right then and there. I knew it was very different and could make what comes through the lens come alive.

For some it's their first UHD 4K footage viewing experience. For me it was my first real Dragon footage in the can. And I was all about it from then on.

Still to date it's not really topped by anything else and I'm shooting my best looking work with it. Dragon's been real special for me.

Wow. Thank you Les. That is a very nice thing to say.

I might open up a 4K peep show with a quarter slot or something :) Seriously though it's just nice putting quality material out there. A lot of the 4K demo footage some manufacturers blast on these TVs is over sharpened and ghastly to look at. This piece I finished in a very "cinema minded" way and it blew me away when I first got to see it in UHD 4K. Didn't feel like I was watching it through a screen at all, felt like I was right there back shooting it. Loved that.

Congrats Phil!
