  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Peter and the Primes

good idea.. send me a PM of how you want it to look and ill post it

I personally LOVE (!!!) this smaller, clip-on version. I do a lot of my shootings outdoors where I have to cary most (if not all) of my gear. With the constant OD on the RPP's (with the exception of the 300), this LWMB is truly a marvel...:

And yeah, one more time, the handle too is awesome!!!

:) Peter

I love this!!

...The matte-box and handle are indeed fantastic... Peter

Will that handle be cast or machined when in production?

Those two bolts with only thin metal around them as the only load bearing contacts still make me nervous with a heavy rigged Red, but at least it would tend to bend rather than crack (unlike the current cast handle).

Oh, that Peter M.

Peter has been around the world 15 times and you could mistake his resume to be an amalgamation of every film-school student's "if i has 3 wishes" list.

But more importantly the guy is a sweetheart... super nice guy with no Ego, which is why I gladly brought over my prized possessions to him this weekend and even left them in his capable hands to continue shooting this afternoon.

Peter, you are a lucky guy! Dang, that must have been a fun time. Was this down in Mexico or somewhere in the states?

You are too kind Jarred...

I tried to shoot this morning, but no waves, no sun, no birds...
Shawn - this was in Laguna Beach - SOCAL. About 30 min from RED HQ's. I spend most of my time now here relocation our R&D division. Also I have been helping MAXX DIGITAL to develop new range of high-performance/low-cost storage specifically for RED users (those lucky who made it to the REDUSER party in Vegas saw the first prototypes...). MAXX will be launching this storage in June...

:) Peter

Handsome fellow there...nice pix Peter. Really excited to see more images leaking from the new RPPs. I saw the storage Peter has been developing and I am hoping to be his 1st customer, these things are no joke...for me, its the only option. Nice Rig Jarred, thanks for sharing...talk to you soon Peter.

Best

Haskell

Golly, so much like an ARRI LMB-5 that it even uses the clamp-on backs for it! And that swingaway model sure looks a touch like an MB20-II. If y'all are so terribly interested in these matteboxes, just let me know. Abel would be happy to quote out similar ARRI matteboxes such as the LMB-5, LMB-15, MB20-II, MB28, MMB-1 (still the best mattebox deal in the industry) and every other ARRI product. Ans we csn also quote you on matteboxes from Chrosziel and Vocas as well.

Mitch, we did get the MMB1 combo (with the FF1) and it is indeed the best deal on the planet. ARRI quality with Costco price-tag. I highly recommend it to anyone!

:) Peter

Yes - MMB1 is "very" cool. But ... the carbon fiber RED clip-on MB = "BAD ASS pry it out of my cold dead hands" cool.

Ahhhhhh, so this is why your voice had a certain nervous excitement when you called the other day Peter! Lucky bastard. =)

I'm on a graveyard hours shoot until tomorrow, I'll give you a call then and pick your brain. ;)

Speaking of matteboxes... its probably a good idea to say that most of the stuff we both shot yesterday used a Formatt HD 1.2 ND in front of the lenses..

for what its worth :)

Whats the ETA on that clip on mattebox? Looks like a nice thing to have for the RPPs.
