We have a proverb in my country (Slovakia) that says: "The way You spend the New Year (JAN-01) is they way Your Year will turn up..."

In the spirit of Jim's SS-post I have had a relaxing day out there with Red One, Birger Mount, couple of cheap Canon zoom lenses and Manfrotto 501 tripod (the only gear not out on jobs). Here is few quick preview stills, motion will follow soon...

I love Canon glass, ...confess spend 1st day of year on bed :-)
really nice
thanks for post

Very nice. I am jealous and hope this solution (Birger) will soon be able for everyone. It will make shooting with RED a whole new experience and finally allow us (non-Cooke S4 type) to take full advantage of this amazing camera the way we were told we would be able to when we first embarked on this verrrrry long journey. That's my wish for 2009! :)

Thanks guys... I just though I better point out that this was "only" shot in 3K (except the 120FPS 2K footage coming up) and on the cheaper EFs (non "L") lenses, in particular the 17-85 and 10-22 EFs. I can only imagine how would this look in 4K with "L" glass, but I am shooting this for a workflow thread over at scarletuser (http://www.scarletuser.com/showthread.php?t=567) - hence the 3K resolution. But I'm certainly not going to be embarrassed to include few of these shots in my reel... :)

BTW Marc - I love the "non-Cooke S4 type" comment... We are definitely on the same wavelength... :)

In my country(India) also, it is the same.
I have to confess that I cooked three meals on this day,Layed in the couch and watched Wimbledon 08 finals in HD,Sat with friends drank several beers and slept well.Nit bad I think!
Happy new year to everyone at Reduser.

wow, fantastic Peter. amazing detail. I love watching pelicans, they are very interesting birds. I can spend hours pelican-watching. I shot a bunch of pelican footage many years ago near Tulum -- wish I had a RED camera back then, my gosh, this looks good. i shot a bunch of pelican stills also, with a 70-200mm L lens, and these look very similar to the shots I took, in terms of the sharpness, clarity, and detail...which is amazing performance from a video camera....unheard of, really.

you're making me wish that I had held onto my Birger reservation...oh well, maybe after all the kinks are worked out of the distribution system...

Veru pekné

Petr - Dekuji Te! Stastny Novy Rok. Tak tam mate nejakyho snehu v Praze?

Great shots Peter. Did you use an IR cut filter?

Not at all - in fact I had no filters what so ever for these shots. I had a polarizer on the 10-22 for some wide shots, those are still coming up... :)

Peter

Tobě taky krásný Nový Rok Peter! Sněhu je tak 2mm čili lehce pocukrováno
Yesterday I snowboarded all day at Krkonoše but I wish to watch some funny pelicans too. I love them they are too funny on land but masters in air and at sea

Peter, I have to admit I, at first, thought your thread was going to discuss which case to use for your your camera with the Birger attached.

Beautiful, beautiful shots.

I've been shooting with the Birger/Canon/Nikon (with adapter) combination for a while and completely love the combination.

David

Simply beautiful.

Has the sample motion footage been released of this yet?
