  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Parker, Irvine

Parker is the RED factory. It produces EPIC and Scarlet. It will produce REDray and the RED projector.

Jim

Is this facility exclusive to Scarlet, or are Epics produced here as well?

Awesome Jarred. Where's the bit where Brian told you he has a Scarlet for that mad fireman from reducer who climbs volcanoes?

BTW don't take this toto serious;ly I'm toasted after thanksgiving hope you guys had a great one too :)

Mike

Is the aluminum Canon mount also made there?

You guys are amazing :) and on thanksgiving no less. Hope my scarlet is in one of those pics;)

wow, so clean and nice! Can't wait to get mine :D Looks like things are really ramping up!

Very clean indeed. Anyone that has ever seen our office at the studio can attest that I had nothing to do with the keeping things clean part :)

That little mobile clean room above that I just posted? we had to make it ourself because nothing came close to what we needed to keep the sensor clean but yet still accessible enough to be part of the assembly chain in the middle of the line. It beats everything on the market in terms of particles per meter, even with it's open floor.

Thanks for the pictures.

I find this one particularly interesting. It seems, to my untrained eyes, to be showing the back focus being adjusted while the camera's pulled apart. I wonder if that's a standard adjustment or if it's actually "...Mike's from Georgia, Getting back focus..." If so, that would be so cool a picture for Mike to have. The picture also seems to show, from behind, that big block of metal that some of the wider Leica M mount lenses run into, and which someone was asking about in another thread.

I dont understand i thought for sure there would be blacksmiths making these tough looking cameras

Close.. this is just part of assembly where the SPM ( sensor positioning mechanism ) is installed in the body. No back focus is being done at this point, as there is no sensor yet :)
