Paris calling

After 10 days of fedex and customs imbroglio, #1131 finally reached its new home here in Paris!
We unboxed and celebrated in proper parisian style with champagne and foie gras.

To keep things simple we decided to name our camera "Paris" (no, not in honor of a certain blond heiress! ).
"Paris" will be put to good use very soon and we will also offer services to anyone wanting to shoot 4k in France or anywhere else in Europe. I will post more info about this shortly.

I take this opportunity to thank all the users here who have been sharing their knowledge and experience with the camera, and of course the entire team behind Red. I had imagined a similar concept for a camera several years ago. Red has made it a reality far better than what I had imagined at the time! So thanks again to Jim and all those at Red who made it happen. You guys have done an awesome job!

Congratulation Steven, my friend Corrado in Italy went true the same Imbroglio, but at last both of you have your cameras, this is one of the main reasons why I decided not to move back home to Italy till all my company's gear is accounted for.

Thank you Ketch. Yes, it was very nerve-wracking not knowing exactly what was going on. I am filing a reclamation with fedex to try understand who and what went wrong.

If you come to Cannes, we should see each other. I am attending the producer's network again this year with our projects so I'll be there for the entire festival.

Mike, just the baseplate and dovetail, like everyone else these last couple of weeks I guess.

I'm still waiting for the final invoice from the customs. But it should be 4,9% for the camera body and ranging from 0 to 6% for accessories. All in all, around 800 euros for a standard order.
Shipping was around $600.

About Custom:

The custom TARIC code for the camera is: 8525.80.19.90 instead of 8525.80.50.50 as is writen on the bill.
Make sure you specifie that it's a camera for television and cinema, not a caméscope.
Have those informations ready for the first phone call from FedEx.

It is 4,9% for the camera, your total order should be around 900€ in import taxes.
