Paralinx Arrow PLUS wireless HD 1 Transmitter to up to 4 Receivers - Upgrade Program

@nick - I will do my best to respond to your questions below directly:

-Can you send a signal from an HDMI port on an SDI fed onboard monitor if I was doing a job on an Alexa or a camera without HDMI?

So, I believe what you are asking is:

If I have a monitor with an SDI feed into it, and I want to take an HDMI feed out of it - can I do that?

short answer:

Most monitors don't do that.

SMALLHD DP7 PRO will when it is released as it features bi-directional cross conversion.

another great option is the ATOMOS CONNECT series of converters - shaped like a SONY NP-F5xx battery - they cross convert H2S or S2H, and are super efficient.

Alternately a lot of customers use the Redbyte Decimator 2 with the Alexa and Sony cameras that do not have HDMI.

We have a wide variety of exciting developments in the pipeline right now - all of which will be beneficial to existing Arrow customers as well as new customers.

Also my 17" Panasonic monitor doesn't have HDMI would the receiver work with a HDMI to DVI adapter?

Generally yes - however this depends on your Panasonic Monitor, and the Framerate/Frequency that you are sending.
Some of the later models support true 23.98p via DVI - some earlier ones do not, a great option is 59.94p from Epic/Scarlet if your monitor supports it. They almost certainly handle 24p encoded in 59.94i

If I were to get +2 recievers could one of the be for the DPX pro?

Sorry, What is a DPX Pro?

You can connect one of your receivers to any normal monitor or cross converter or device that accepts an HDMI (and most) dvi signals via a converter cable.

Upgrade option

The upgrade option looks great. I used the Paralinx Arrow to transmit video from my octocopter and it worked great. (Posted a quick blog about my experience.) I wish there were a bit more range for this application but still a very worth while purchase. A second receiver for the director's monitor would be great. I'll definitely be keeping that in mind for future upgrades.

Thanks Christopher - it's true - you don't always get UP TO 328' line of sight -but in optimal conditions you can get up to 328' line of sight. We appreciate your blog post - cool stuff. We are attempting to tackle all the needs of our customers - like multiple receivers for instance - so just know that your requests don't fall on Deaf Ears.

Hi Layi - that thing you linked to does not actually transmit to two receivers at once for starters. It has a loop through.

We utilize a professional grade chipset which offers up to 328' range line of sight, works well through walls, features dynamic frequency selection to detect and avoid interference in order to provide better range and picture, a frame buffer to increase picture quality, many more frequency bands within the unlicensed spectrum, professional accessories and support, correct mounting and powering options are available - and we are always expanding our product line and quality assurance.

Paralinx is actually started by two cinematographers in California - myself and Greg Smokler.

we made this product because we use it.

is there anything else we can address for you?

as for the licensed band operation question - we are not discounting all options for increasing range and picture quality while staying true to our mantra:

Affordable Professional Wireless HD for Cinematography

Hi Dan,
I paid the deposit a few days ago. How quick will the upgrade be done ? Will there be a waiting list or will we be able to send it in immediately ? How long before we receive the upgrade, once we've sent it in ?

I'd like to use the opportunity to order a shield and a couple of cables, how can I order them ?

Thanks,
Nils.

Nils - thank you so much for your upgrade.

kind Regards,

Dan,

I don't currently own the Paralinx Arrow and since I'm in a foreign country I don't think it makes sense for me to buy the current version and then send it in for the upgrade. I would like to purchase the Arrow Plus, could you please let me know when and how I can do that?
