When using the code, it only knocks the price of the 15" down to $845, not $725.
You have until July 25th to get payments in.
To Chris or anyone who already has an Osee: is it possible to use the monitors without a LUT applied to it? I noticed on the BMC forum someone who has the newer 15" version posted this question after not being able to find a way to view the monitor image without a LUT. My guess is that perhaps his camera is outputting the LUT and he has to manually disable it, but I just want to double check.
Hey Chris,
Have you seen the Atomos Sumo? How do you think the Osee compares in terms of Color accuracy?
how would you rate the OSEE 7" in compared to the small hd 7" bright ?
You can't delog/decode a LUT signal from the camera and remove the LUT via the monitor. You can however send a LOG based image out of the camera and apply the LUT at the monitor.
I've only seen the Sumo behind some glass at NAB. It seems nice, but it's heavy. Who knows on color accuracy. I've always found the Atomos screens tend to shift towards magenta and could never calibrate it properly, even with the calibration tool they sell. For Osee, these things are great in terms of color accuracy.
For color accuracy, blows it away, but it's not quite as bright. Personally, I'd much prefer a color accurate and daylight viewable screen as opposed to one that isn't color accurate.
Today I visited the Osee headquarters and met Thom who was extremely helpful and accommodating to all of my questions. The 7" impressed me, especially how bright it was outdoors. Navigating the menus was very user friendly and the ability to switch between your own LUTs that can be loaded on via SD card and viewing waveform and scopes was a breeze. The build quality of the monitor is solid and also very light. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I'm sure all of you who ordered the 7" will be too!
Very cool to know.
With the Sony battery adapter, is it around the same weight as the 702?
a previous post from chris mentioned it is 1.5 lbs so looks like it should be a touch lighter than the 702 1.85 lbs
also here's a photo from another blog post

on a separate note anybody able to comment on the build of the SDI ports of the 7". I know the smallHD was famous for bad soldering points and tended to break or loosen over time
