  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Orders for M-Logic RED Rocket enclosure are LIVE

I have had the M-Logic running for 3 weeks straight (literally not powered down) without a single issue. Super solidly built. It definitely won't run off the Thunderbolt power, though. I am not aware of a single PCI enclosure that does.

Aha, I thought it did run off the tb power. But I guess thats just my pipe dream. Thanks for letting me know.

Then question, is the power supply built in so it's just a wall cable or is an external power thing similar to the epic AC power?

Good to hear it's solid built.

Anyone know if the M-Logic enclosure will work with the soon to be release Red Rocket-X ?

Cheers

Current ones will not fit it. The future RED ROCKET X is too long.
I have the M-Logic and love the beast Im willing to bet they will come out with a larger size one for the REDROCKET X.

I get this error message when launching RCXP after installing the redrocket in the Mlogic... what to do?

Hi Björn!

...I get the same error message, but in fact it doesn't matter.

Curious if someone can explain this.
My idea was thr m-logo r- box should work without error messages,
which it obviously doesn't.

Maybe somebody has a solution to get rid of this message.

;-)

That message is just saying that the thunderbolt isn't fast enough to take advantage of the card. But it certainly is good enough for me.

Thanks, Thats what I thought, got it confirmed by the reseller as well.

It really kicks ass. Had a Maxxdigital redrocket raid with 4Terabite before, no thunderbolt. And without bashing Maxx digital to much I can only say that that thing did not really please me. It was constantly falling appart, Power supplies braking, loosing the raid, the casing falling appart etc. Even though we took gentle care of if. Also it was as big as an old pizza box stationery computer. Big enough to be rack mounted and rather heavy and to me extremely over priced.

So in comparison to that this Red rocket TB thing from M-logic is really the bomb. I got it hooked to my small little macbook air and a lacie TB SSD drive running premiere at 1/2 and it's like cutting butter.

Further more it's so small so if I have it in my carry on bag I can just have a long TB cable going from my bag to my computer and I can sit and edit 5k realtime on my flights going home from shoots.

We have a job now where we are flying home from SA to Stockholm via london, with agency and client and all on the plane. If we where a few more, so we filled up the whole business class we could probably ask BA to let us hook up a HD feed from the rocket to their big screen... But they are probably not even HD ready, LOL.
