Just received the Optitek Nikon mount. I know that people have praised this particular mount before but I want to emphasise what a terrific piece of kit this is - beautifully constructed. It is a real work of art.

Stop teasing, still waiting for mine!!!
Hey Rob how much time did you wait for the mount to be delivered?
It's taking ages for me, and I get no answers or no news of any kind.
I'm sure it's a good product, (I own the Optitek mount for R1 since day 1) I'm less certain about the way Optitek is dealing with its customers.

Hi everyone. I think that Jacek is a wonderful technician - perhaps not a businessman though. My guess is that he is being slammed with orders as at the moment Optitek is really the only game in town as far as Nikon mounts go. I have to confess that I became a tad tetchy over the delay as well but now that I have it all is forgiven. All I can do is counsel patience.

Sure it's worth the wait, me think I have been spoiled by Red customer services.
And +1 to that, Jacek is a really clever tec.
Hey, Jaadgy the mount is less than 1000 $ and more than 900$ ;)

$995 from memory.

Hi Rob,

can you post some pictures of the mount on the Epic? I only find pictures of the R1 Version.

Thanks!

The only thing that's gonna keep me from ordering one is I can't afford waiting more than a week, so I gotta find another way 'cause I need a Nikon mount pronto.

i was in the same boat, if i was you id order a prolock NOW.. other options are thin on the ground and its unlikely someone will rent you a mount

A horrible but workable solution while I waited was using the epic canon mount with a nikon to canon adapter I bought off ebay for $25.

I will post some pictures. It is a significant improvement on the Optitek Red One nikon mount which was pretty good.

All I had handy was my phone, Tom - but here you go:

EDITED TO ADD: NO idea why the photos aren't showing up vertically. Sorry about that.

Building ProLocks

Building ProLocks

Hi guys
Thank you for great reviews
Sorry about the slight delays- we do not compromise on product quality so every time there is a machine hickup we need to stop and address the issue so the ProLocks are the best they can be. Consistent quality is the name of the game for me. All about the product. We are building and shipping units every day.
Next week looks really promising for assembly- parts are pristine now.
Such is manufacturing...
Adam I'll be looking for your email.

I might be able to rent you a mount.

To the board: what's a fair rental per day/per week?
