  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

color 1.5.1 issue?

Hey, just updated to color 1.5.1 and am getting some strange results; like any red clips i unclick the red settings tab (director wanted to go back to the raw and grade from scratch on select shots) wont render out a grade, just the raw; although on the reels we started before the update this works just fine; any thoughts?
 
I do not understand this question at all....I think that the RED TAB needs to be enabled to get to the RAW DATA.

the red tab is enabled, in that it is not greyed out, if you goto the red tab in the primary room there is a checkbox that says enabled; with it checked you are applying all the camera settings (kelvin tint exposure gamma, color space, iso, etc.) if you encheck ityour starting grade is the camera raw data. It's not just unchecking the box as i've done this many times in the past with renders coming out just fine, now it's only on select clips of projects made entirely in 1.5.1; the renders are still fine in projects created in 1.5 and then opened and saved in 1.5.1

sorry, was off a step, i meant conflict occurred when upgrading from 1.5.1 to 1.5.2 if that makes a difference
 
There are some reported issues with the new (4.0b) Color Framework and 1.5.2

I haven't tested it yet, but I'm hearing about similar weirdness from various places.

On the plus side, from the 1.5.2 changelog "RED 2K renders from 4K media are no longer softened."

old framework; didn't want to completely change that mid project, just ran the pro-apps update since it didn't look like anything that big was being changed color-wise and would correct hopefully the loss of trackers
 
I've just gone to 1.5.2. Ben Where is the color framework 4.0b ?

4.0 is the Beta version of the new plugin that's been floating around for a while. 4.0b*eta* basically. Didn't want to confuse anyone by just saying 4.0, but apparently it went the other direction. :P

I am assuming it is 4.0 Beta 2 released here on reduser by Rob Lohman.

Made it work again in my case, after a bit of a scare (with the beta4 framework), Something happened with how QT read the proxies. Permissions + regenerating all cam-proxies fixed it.

Were you recreating my issue? Sorry got a little confussed with the direciton the thread took. I'm sticking with the last officially released build until this project is done. If so is there a quick way to regen proxies across 7tb worth of shots? or just the shot by shot rebuilding in RA?

Clipfinder has a make quicktimes command. Load the clips in a directory, select all and it will recreate them.

That's right, forgot about clipfinder; i usually only use it to conform for color prep and loop bug fixing i forgot about all it's other wonderful functionalities!
