  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sony CineAlta (The latest version)
Illumina S35
Red Pro Primes
Or other suggestions :-)
Do not need to be a complete set!

Got some nice offers from you guys but as for now I´m looking for closer pick-up areas (Sweden/Scandinavia/EU) as I´m in production until summer.

Just a heads up, in comparison to other PL mount lenses, those three are probably at the bottom of the list in terms of really nice look and feel (in my opinion). I'd consider Zeiss Super Speeds or Standard Speeds. What camera do you shoot on primarily?

Having heavily used Zeiss Master Primes and owned a personal set with which I travel the world with Epic, and just about any set of PL lens made to date, aside some very old and only good for memorabilia type of show, I can argue your point just about on every aspect Daniel... ;)

When it comes to the Schneider, they have come a VERY long way with their Xenar 3 and absolutely LOVE their new Xenon, not too large, just a bit longer then the Leica Summicron Cine primes, light and smooth focus gear with 300 degree movement, image is very nice and love the round Bokeh as well... ;)
 
Should have said 'in my opinion'. Everyone has their own. I feel the new Schneiders look sterile. Rent a set and decide for yourself if you haven't already.

Thanks for your opinions! Appreciate. Of course, it is always a matter of personal taste and needs to what lenses you choose. I have tried the Cine-Xenar M3 and really like the look and feel of them. The other lenses on my "list" will still need to be tested but comes from reading the thoughts and tests from you guys here on Reduser.

I normally shoot with Superspeeds or UP but feel it´s time to have my own set within reasonable money. Those are what I have narrowed it down to… so far!
 
No Cine-Xenars in Europe? :-)
Does anyone know who´s the European dealer for Schneider cine lenses? Have tried to email the two companies who Schneider refers to on their site but no reply….
 
Elites are good if you are considering the Illumina's. You can view them both and a few other options from the SALT III lens test.

Thanks for all offers! Not decided yet as I´m in production ´til early June. Still hoping to find a good set of used Cine-Xenars in Europe firstly. Also going to test the Illuminas shortly.

Traveling to CA in July so any offers on lenses in METRIC from LA/San Diego/Bay Area will be considered :-)

Still looking and now I´ve tried the Illuminas on a shoot with nice results. So, looking for a set of them (S35 Illuminas) -Metric scale preferred.
I´ll be in CA in July/August so might be able to pick up locally.
Also, still interested in Schneider Cine-Xenars
