  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OpenAI Sora– The most realistic AI-generated video to date

It could be that we will become the tool. Or the physical device to interact with reality. The mouse.
I can imagine a world where people could make whatever job they need also using AI to guide them in the task they have to do. Electrician, mechanic, painter, medic, architect... where teachers and professors or any knowledgeable would be of no use.

That could be true, at least up to a point. But, knowledge and experience are different things. So, I think it just depends.

I think people are getting carried away with AI at this point. We still don't have fool proof media for long term data storage or even SSDs that don't suffer from "bit rot". Most apps and software barely use more than two CPU cores at a time. GPU acceleration is still limited and buggy. Mainstream hard drives are still often 4TB at most. Heck, we still don't have 100% emulation performance for all arcade and console games let alone even being able to get completely accurate Sega Genesis audio! To think we would have an all in one sci-fi level AI creation tool that's absolutely perfect is wishful thinking at best. Remember everyone losing it over 3D? Digital scanned performer motion capture? VR? The Metaverse?

Even if it could work as people are fearing, imagine how much nitpicking we'll have to do to get a performance we want out of these AI tools, some people are going to go mad trying to think of the right words let alone hoping the software renders the scene properly! The best thing to come out of this will be the additive plugins and shaders for our current editing and 3D software to speed up and perfect our workflows. As an all-in-one tool, think about it for a minute and it immediately won't make practical sense as there has been no indication of an advanced control mode or manual adjustments or anything, you get only what it spits out, just a GIF creator on steroids. Sure you can string some renders together but without a human performance, pretty images alone does not a movie make.

We will see what happens within 5 years.

If prompting "spitfire plane crashes into the jungle" I bet the AI would do it fairly well. I think there will be a lot of features creates with Ai rather than VFX generated or SFX made.

Ps: Watching the above video, I think within 5 years we will have people living happily in their Ai generated imaginary (or ai-real?) world...

I do agree, here. An AI extension for Blender would produce more reliable results than heavy processing of 2D imagery.

But, I must disagree with one point: emotional connection can be had with anything. Cartoons, CGI, stuffed animals, whatever. Let's not pretend that only human actors can establish connections with audiences.
