I'm about to buy SmallHD 3203 HDR 32" Production Monitor but before I spend so much money I wanted to know if there are other options out there that are worth it. I feel this monitor can help me for Color Grading at my house and also when I'm on Set for the focus asistant as well director/client.

My only worried is that its a 4k monitor that its resolution is 1080.

I also look into options like this one:

https://teradek.com/collections/ios-monitoring Where I can have an iPad Pro connected to it.

I'm trying to build a full solution with also a follow focus system, this one came also as an option:

Anyways I appreciate all the help. I want to spend savy this ammount of money.

32" is way to big for on set. unless you are only working in a studio.
SmallHD monitors are great for outside viewing as they are bright but they are not calibrated monitors. For color grading you would want a Flanders CM or DM series monitor. As a original owner Flanders provides lifetime free calibration. You can also use a Flanders on set, you just need a sun hood during the day.

Flanders is the way to go IMO. I have CM and DM monitors and they work great on set and are extremely accurate in the grade. Buy with confidence. The new DM 240 is a reasonably priced standout for value. I've had it about 6 months and it's been solid.

For the studio level shows on which I primarily work, the Flanders and Sony OLEDs are by far the most popular for set use. That said, the Flanders LCD's are also quite good (particularly the DM240).

I would decide whether on set or color grading is more important and calibrate your choice to that. The SmallHD 32 and 24 are great for what it is designed to do - to be a bright-ass on set rugged monitor with a nice rigging system on the back. But the viewing angle is pretty narrow and i would not at all recommend it for grading work.

It seems flanders is the way to go, now I'm between the DM 240(LED) and the CM 250 (OLED)

I think going DM 250 OLED is way to much, but I wanted to know if there is a huge difference between this 2.

Thanks to everyone that help me out, I end up purchasing the DM 250 OLED. I hope I can make a review soon, since I couldnt find anything online.

The Panasonic "production" monitors are actually not too bad and can all be calibrated to a reasonable point. I've seen quite a few productions using these from time to time on location shoots.

I've been using my Flanders CM both as a color monitor in the studio and on location as a mini video village.. I couldn't be more pumped on the production monitor. I've also rented it out a few times, it literally paid for itself within the first few months of owning it...

I am down between the CM171 which I just found out is out of production. They dropped the whole CM line and push you toward the DM line. Abel still has CM monitors for sale so wondering if I should save the money and go that route. Or choke up another $1400 and go DM24.

It will be used 90% of the time for grading, and the rest in controlled studio setting. Always happy for input from people who have used both?

Thanks Roidrigo for the response. I would love to go for the DM 25" OLED, but that is twice my budget for a monitor at this time. I can get a Sony OLED 1741 for $2400 used, but was thinking Flanders for the calibration from Abel.

I am going for a new Flanders CM171. It is in my budget and will give great performance. Calibrating can be done by Abel in NYC each year.

Thanks for the input.
