Just wrapped a 11 day shoot in Colombia where we swapped OLPF's (STH and LLO) almost twice a day. Documentary style commercial shoot with only a Flex LED light for interiors.
For anyone wondering which OLPF to get, the answer is both. The 5 minutes it took us to change OLPF's was totally worth it every time. The Kippertie sensor protector is a must though!
If anyone else shoots documentary style with available lights, this is truly the best work flow.

Yeah those little screws for the OLPF are a nightmare.. I'm wondering how hard it would be to print out an OLPF sensor protector on a 3d printer?

Did you reset the back focus each time?

I can say with certainty you do not need to adjust the back focus when swapping between the RED Low Light Optimized or the Skin Tone - Highlight OLPF.

Do you need the Kippertie protector with the interchangeable OLPF system? We just had our cameras updated and now have both STH and LLO, but haven't tried swapping yet.

It's perfectly possible without our little protector, but it's a nice safety net for very little money :)

I´m also using it, not for safety paranoia, more to cover the sensor to protect it from collection dust during the procedure, this is a great solution and I honestly don´t know why RED is not providing anything like this with their interchangeable system. Thank you John.

Cheers,

Ulf

I wish both the olpf's and red lens mounts had captive spring loaded screws like the module adapter has. I hear they are including captive screws in the PL mount now. They should really offer for us to send in our mounts for upgrade to captive. The olpfs screws are probably to small, but would be amazing if they could figure it out!
