  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OK... REDCINE-X time.

hahaha, I think this has been taken care of with about 965912364 clips of seals to be off-lined with the Rocket

 That was just the first pass! About 2 million seal clips to go! Great stuff though, amazing images. Perfect job for the Rocket.

So, Rocket and Redcine-X parties at our places? You'll need something to fill in your time whilst awaiting the audio upgrade, I imagine:wink5:

Rocket scheduled to arrive Monday...
Good time for another Red party! Let's all get together and play in the next couple of weeks. My camera left Alaska this afternoon on it's way home to Red!

Welcome to the Club of the Banned People... :smile5:

its funny Jean i think your trying to motivate but you are doing the opposite.. comments like this actually make us scratch our heads and wonder why do we even bother.

Water.. duck..

It wasn't me moaning :-0

or was that aimed at the 10bit part? :-/

Just havin' fun... we have a long list of fixes, features and improvements we are working on 24/7.

Loving the new ui and continued improvements. I would like to humbly suggest an R3D trim/export tool in REDCINE-X. I guess the trim part is takin care of already being able to edit clips, now how bout the export? Thanks for listening.

It's on the list.

Yeah Trimming clips is a big one on the list.. its one of those things that seems very easy but when you have frame based metadata and timecode etc.. alot of stuff needs to happen when you start Hard-Clipping R3D files :)

Ive long wanted the ability to output a new R3D based on trimming an existing one, that'll be a great feature!

Yup me too Shawn... thats one of the only negatives of a completely (compressed) digital acquisition.. its east to Roll way more than you should on the day... and then you get back to the Edit Bay and pay the price :)

I have a question, and maybe it's been answered already on these 22 pages so far- but I just tried exporting a clip to test RC-X, and instead of going to the volume I'd selected (or maybe it was going to go there), it used up all the limited amount of internal space on my computer. Now, my computer literally has NO memory left and I can't find the file that ate it all. I've checked finder, searched, checked everything that was changed today, etc. Whatever used up my computer's memory, my machine can't tell me.

Any idea where this file might be and what it might be called? I need my memory back.

-looks awesome, btw.
thanks

Did you tried to look in finder for files date of creation?

Is there a way to frame a shot like the old RedCine? X-Scale, Y-Scale. X-Offset Y-Offset.

That would be a good feature.

visible frameguides would be handy

and

automatic BWF synching......woohaaa that would be awesome.

applying a look (WB/Curves etc.) not just to ALL clips, but to a group of clips.

can i set the debayer setting right now?--or is it what is chosen in the viewer?

love the browsing through material.

Nice app boys.

I'm playing it on an old MacBook Pro 15", works nice.
I noticed a tiny bug that made me think of a nice feature.

When holding the cursor (tuchpad) over a controll, lets say exposure, and swiping it up or down with two fingers, the slider goes right (more) for up, and left (less) for down. Makes sense.
But if swept left, the slider goes right :)
That made me think of a way to get a super cheap grading-panel!

Make a button that looks like a vectorscope and when holding over that the tuchpad double-finger-sweeping acts like a gradingball!
Swipe two fingers up towards R to get more red, B for blue, and G for green.
Then make another button like that next to Kelvin/Tint

Use three fingers up/down for doing R&G&B sliders to increase/decrease together to make in lighter/darker

just a thought

Hi,

I have a problem to report. When I select Prores 4444 as the output codec the resulting file renders BLACK FRAMES. The same file renders correctly our of RR, but not out of Color which is giving me the pink and green garbage renders.

Is there an official reporting thread yet?

David
