There is a thread for Epic M/X -> Epic Dragon upgrades, so I figured Scarlet folks could post their choice and order time. If you have executed your Scarlet for an upgrade, please answer the poll question, post your upgrade path, and time of order.

If you do not provide the time your reservation was placed, you will be added to the end of the list.

The last entry will be BOLD to help me keep track.

*THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL LIST FROM RED AND I HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH RED. THIS IS BEING MADE FROM INFORMATION VOLUNTEERED BY REDUSERS ON THIS FORUM AND UPDATED STRICTLY FOR POSTERITY PURPOSES. PLEASE NO SPECULATION ON THE SCARLET UPGRADE PROCESS OR SCHEDULE*

Scarlet-X - #1498 To Epic-X
Order confirmation - April 11th 11:04.

Made the upgrade to Epic-X.. After the full specs of Scarlet Dragon came out, Epic-X upgrade was def the better option. My rationale: the Scarlet Dragon at 5K 60fps, it is pretty much an Epic-X with 1/2 the frames rates and 3 more stops of DR and improved sensitivity in low light.

13.5 stops in Epic-X is plenty for my needs, and most productions are comfortably geared equipped for shooting at 13.5 stops. For the few instances where I needed extra DR, the HDRx has come in handy. These days, majority of people I work with are always asking for high frame rates. For me that was of more value than 3 extra stops and 2000ISO. Epic-X upgrade became the clear choice for me. Thanks RED for the trade-up.

I really can't decide. This is possibly one of the hardest decisions I have to make. Scarlet Dragon = Higher iso shooting, 3 stops better DR, Newer Sensor. Epic X = 120fps at 5K, it's an EPIC, and opportunity for Dragon, but I probably won't go that route unless I have extra money flowing in.

I went Epic X with the intention to go Epic Dragon early next year.

I bet the farm on the Scarlet Dragon. I really wanted an Epic, but I was afraid the new sensor would be the more bookable option despite the fact I love over cranking I thought it to be the wiser financial choice for myself...

Be careful with this. It was the Scarlet pre-order list just like this one that got Justin Harrison banned.

We went the Scarlet -> EPIC route with hopes of upgrading to an EPIC Dragon next year...
