Official Post Your DSLR Still Photography Thread

[Tom Lowe]

Thanks Paul. And Tom, I should point out no animals were abused during the taking of the pic

Oh, so the dog is a masochist! :eek6:

Oh, so the dog is a masochist! :eek6:

:smilielol5:

It's a trick shot - there's no tension in the lead and the dog is jumping up and to the right of frame where my wife is holding a dog treat. I wanted to catch him mid-air, but I missed the shot

The dog is more of a lunatic, than a masochist - always bouncing around like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh - though my son does have a rabbit called "Gimp"

....though my son does have a rabbit called "Gimp"

Why did I instantly picture a rabbit with a black leather gimp mask on....?! :lipsrsealed:

Here's a few more from the earlier series I posted:

Enjoy!

I'm on fire for you baby

I'm on fire for you baby

Right place, right time.

[Pietro Impagliazzo]

Shit...
That's awesome!

Right place, right time.

:scared: Ouch.

The way the moonlight comes out on that tree is spectacular in motion. One of my favorites so far Tom.

Miguel, what lens and camera did you use for that shot Impagliazzo just quoted? I agree, it is a fantastic shot.

[Miguel "Macgregor" De Olaso]

That´s a nikon D80 with a 50mm lense. But it´s the result of a mosaic of 3 vertical photos to achieve about the same sensor size as a full frame 35mm camera.

[Roberto Lequeux]

More than a FF though, then cropped. Gotcha. One for the girl and one on either side. Nice idea. The colors and perspective are great. Love it.

Hi chaps. Had the great opportunity to direct a TV show at the Royal Air Force base at Halton in England today. I managed to take some stills while I was at it, I hope you enjoy the results.

Check.

This was taken during basic rifle drills.

Kick the tyres, light the fires.

Taken during a brief lull in shooting.

Halton house.

The noncom officers' mess is located in Halton house, a location that has been used in movies such as The Duchess, The world is not enough and Bride and Prejudice.

Tormente.

Self portrait of yours truly. Sitting in a glider on the tarmac. Wearing pretty much nothing but Oakley gear today. Custom straight jacket, SIboots, logo t shirt, military jacket. Hope Jim's happy.

I can't thank the RAF enough, they were incredibly open and generous.

[Tom Lowe]

Cool. Looks like a lot of fun, Eren, and a great opportunity for shooting.

BTW, thanks for the call the other day. That made my day.

[Eren Ozkural]

Cheers Tom, it's my pleasure.

All of that muckiness on the horizon is thanks to the wonderful "controlled burn" the "fire experts" at Yosemite set this summer. :sosp:

This thread doesn't deserve to be on the third page!!

Here's a few photos I took today on my new Canon 7D (interior shots are ISO800, exterior ISO200):

The first two have been post-processed in Photoshop, but the last one is a straight JPG from camera, only cropped with border put around it.

LOVE this camera's new 63 zone metering and spot AF, which is razor accurate!

Cheers,

Paul

[Paul Leeming]

...and for anyone who missed this because you weren't reading the 7D thread:

Enjoy!

Paul

Nice shots Paul. You've certainly got the measure of that 7D.

Here's a quick grab during filming in Vietnam earlier this week.

Just a car...

Many others are far better, but I like the mirror's edge on this one.

[Tim Sutherland]

These are actually SLR, not DSLR, as these are Kodak 800 speed film shot backwards and exposed as EI 25 with a little bit of perf flashing.
