  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OFFHOLLYWOOD OMOD for Weapon - It's ALIVE!!!!

There will be a LOT of special privileges for folks that sign up to the Early Adopter Program. We will most likely close that program right after the IBC show - but that is TBD and if we get flooded with more reservations than we expect we are gonna close it up even sooner.

We really want people to order OMODs with the FIZ integration - so that at later time - they can buy the hand controller to use it. And you can use any CForce motor (every rental house on the planet will have these) - and you can buy cforce motors from OFFHOLLYWOOD, cmotion or ARRI.

We are still twisting arms with suppliers and partners - but it will only cost approx. $800 more for integrated 3-axis lens control installed - but you can't use it without an OMOD enabled hand controller.

Initially - we will sell an OFFHOLLYWOOD branded spin of the cmotion LCS hand controller - BUT - we are in development with cmotion to make our own OFFHOLLYWOOD hand controller to have ready and shipping by NAB - made by cmotion - but designed by a dream team I'm putting together.

Imagine a Preston controller and an ARRI controller in a blender trying to feel like an XBOX controller - with tactical tagging and integrations to LiDar and Cinetape :)

We also intend to have aggressively priced (low) weekly and monthly rental rates for the hand controllers and CForce motors - so folks that buy OMODs from us (or our resellers) with lens control integration can just rent hand controllers and motors when they want and/or until they are ready to purchase.

Will you be able to pull change focus, iris, and zoom via RedLink Protocol with like Fool control etc? This would be great for shooting underwater via Gigabyte or have you help us configure the wheel control for focus/iris/zoom on housing to turn the motors.

That is the OBVIOUS goal :)

It is in the hardware spec - but the firmware will take a bit of time - I'll try to get a 100% confirmation before the end of the IBC show that it's all a go - but yes, I spec'd for that.

I knew someone was gonna ask that one :)

short answer: I don't think so - but I'll chew on it

long answer: We COULD pull the OMOD Engine out of an ES-Mini and stick it into a Weapon OMOD - it is the same board. BUT - all the mechanical and cable assemblies are different. So ... it IS possible that we could offer an "Upgrade Path" which gives you a certain amount of CREDIT towards a Weapon OMOD if you turn in your ES-Mini OMOD. I just doubt the amount of the credit we could offer would be compelling enough to justify the "process".

I'm open to creative ideas :) But ... we are trying to price these modules aggressively - so it's not like we have a ton of margin to play with or can offset with the price of a new camera, etc.

only a few questions of curiosity:

- is possible in the next time available 4k uhd out of sdi?
- is possible WIFI video (1080p)
- is possible to connect to web with usb ( es: Huawei modem 4g), same this: Sony cbk-wa101 ?

You believe that it is entirely feasible?

Good question...? and if it is possible then is it possoble to spin the handle so I can balence an easyrig with a MP and still use the button?

Don't worry about handles and buttons - we got something special for 'ya - just couldn't get it done before IBC. And it's as easyrig friendly as you can get.
