  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Odyssey7 Anyone gone there?

Just picked mine up from Lemac today! The build quality is amazing and the picture quality looks great from the OLED. I bought the 7Q and i just registered the unit tonight with convergent design.

At this stage it will only record 10 bit HD DPX files (4:4:4) as standard for free and you can purchase Arri Raw, Canon Raw and Sony Raw as optional extras. There IS NO PRORES or AVID MXF as yet but i believe its coming very soon.

Lemac didnt have any Convergent design drives in stock so im going to try my 256 Intel SSD's that i use for my Hyperdeck and see if they work in the interim.

Hopefully this will be a perfect solution for my Alexa XT as it cant record Arri Raw and Pro res at the same time, and i miss having a histogram on board. The Odyssey has histogram, focus assist and a heap of helpful tools that we are all use to having on an Epic.

I went into Lemac today to buy the TVLOGIC 5.6" monitor and Scott showed me this for really not a lot more so i bit the bullet and bought it.
Once i have had a proper play with it i will let you know, but at this stage it looks very promising.
 
We had one at the CML UWE camera test. I think it's the perfect sized onboard and the image is great. Add all those recording options and its probably the best option out there.

Any update on if those non Convergent drives work?- just ordered recorder….
